High School. It will provide a total of $1,184,262 over three years, which will also fund positions
for two additional counselors, one additional social worker, and one psychologist.

Monthly Financial Reports, 2010 Capital Improvement Program Reports

Action Taken
Board Approves Memorandum Regarding Macon Promise Neighborhood Initiative
After hearing from Macon Promise Neighborhood officials with an update on the initiative,
Board members approved a Memorandum of Understanding dictating how the District's share of
allocated funding for the initiative will be used. The memorandum guarantees that funding from
the District will be spent for educational purposes only.
This week, construction crews broke ground on the new Promise Center at Historic Ballard-
Hudson. The 100,000-square-foot building, located at 1780 Anthony Road, will be renovated and
house several programs to support education and families. The Central Georgia Partnership for
Individual & Community Development is heading up the initiative.
In 2011 Macon received a federal Promise Neighborhood planning grant to assess the needs of
families in the Tindall Heights and Unionville neighborhoods.
