HDS: 18.09.06.- Aged 11. Father: Assistant <strong>School</strong>master: Home: 65, St.Thomas Road, South <strong>Hackney</strong>.<br />

Played Piano in Boys Concert 1910. Britten’s House Captain 1913-1914, Best Athletic Boy 1913;<br />

Awarded an Open Scholarship <strong>of</strong> £60 for Natural Sciences at Queen’s College, Cambridge;<br />

also L.C.C. Senior County Scholarship.<br />

Cambridge University O.T.C.(84/15).<br />

2nd Lieut. 12th Bn Royal Fusiliers, (attached to 2/8th Bn London Regiment) (86/15).<br />

Sec.-Lt. E.Cohen, M.C. was killed in France on July 31st. He was shot though the lung by a German<br />

sniper, and lingered between life and death for twelve hours. (92/17).<br />

He is commemorated on Panel 6 <strong>of</strong> the Menin Gate Memorial.<br />
