Gazette <strong>of</strong> January 10th, in the list <strong>of</strong> D.C.M.’s awarded:-<br />
“113 Sergt. S.M. Harrie, 3rd London Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps., T.F.<br />
For conspicuous gallantry. He displayed great bravery and initiative in taking his stretcher-bearers to<br />
wounded, improvising means <strong>of</strong> transport, and carrying away 30 badly wounded men under heavy fire.”<br />
Sergt. Harrie (who left the <strong>School</strong> in 1897) has now been promoted to the rank <strong>of</strong> Staff Sergeant. (87/16).<br />
