Leona modestly admits to supplying the Peterborough Zoo with monkey food,
parrot mix and pot bellied pig food to name just a few. One would be hard
pressed to request something Equi-Pet Supplies does not display but if so, Leona
will gladly fill special orders.
Preferring to be known simply as Leona, the eleven year owner/operator of
Equi-Pet Supplies explains she can carry so many unique but essential items for
pets because she is an independent and not under the restrictions of a chain.
The displays are endless, tack and wormers for horses, traveling cages for cats
and dogs, medications, snacks, grooming tools and even fish food. There are
gift cards for pets, keepsake animal mugs and harnesses for sled dogs. Just when
we think we have seen it all, Leona escorts us to the back rooms that are piled
high with horse feed, cat and dog foods of every description, bird feeders and
a large variety of seed. Leona weighs and bags most of her horse and pet foods
offering a frequent buyer enticement, purchase 10 bags over a period of time
and earn a free bag.
It is impossible to enter Equi-Pet Supplies
without being completely awed by the variety
and vastness of displays, everything from
pet toys to tooth brushes, supplies for all
pets big and small.
