Location.- Water-stage recorder, lat. SS'SS*, long. 83°25', half a mile upstream<br />

- u. 8. Highway 29, 2 miles west <strong>of</strong> A<strong>the</strong>ns, Clarke County, and 5 miles upstream nwm<br />

Barber Creek. Datum <strong>of</strong> gage is 555.66 feet above mean sea level, detum <strong>of</strong> 1929,<br />

supplementary adjustment <strong>of</strong> 1936. .<br />

Drainage area.- 398 square miles.<br />

Records available.- October 1901 to October 1902 (at site 1 mile upstream), April 1937<br />

to September J.940 (at site 4 miles downstream), October 1940 to September. 1945 In<br />

reports <strong>of</strong> Geological Survey. January 1929 to March" 1932 at site 4 miles dontastream,<br />

In reports <strong>of</strong> Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers, U. S. Army.<br />

Extremes.- Maximum discharge during year, 4.880 second-feet Apr. 25 (gn^e height, 10.0<br />

feet); minimum dally, 114 second-feet July 12.<br />

1901-2, 1929-32, 1937-45: Maximum discharge observed. 19,600 second-feet Feb. 28,<br />

1902 (gage height, 25.5 feet, site and datum <strong>the</strong>n in use); minimum ('ally,42 second-<br />

feet Sept. 23, 1941.<br />

Remarks. Records good. Diurnal fluctuation and slight regulation at times caused by<br />

power plants above station.<br />
