none, Floyd County, 2 miles upstream from confluence with Oostanaula piver. Auxiliary<br />

water-stage recorder at Second Avenile Bridge, 1 alle downstream. Datum <strong>of</strong> each gage<br />

Is 561.70 feet above mean sea level, datum <strong>of</strong> 1929, supplementary adjustment/<strong>of</strong> 1936.<br />

Drainage area.- 1,810 square miles.<br />

Records available.- July to December 1903, my 1939 to September 1945. August 1904 to<br />

June 1921 ap site at FreemanS Ferry, 5 miles upstream, published as Etowah River near<br />

Rorte.<br />

Extremes.- Maximum discharge during year, 12,000 second-feet Apr. 26; nrxlmum gage height,<br />

-20.6 reet Feb. 14; minimum dally discharge, 638 second-feet Oct. '30. *<br />

1904-21, 1939-48: Maximum discharge, 55,000 second-feet Dec. 11, 1919 (gage height,<br />

over 28 feet at former site at Freemans Ferry), computed from data at upstream<br />

. stations; minimum dally, 360, second-feet Oct. 10, 24, 1904.<br />

Maximum stage known, that <strong>of</strong> Dec. 11, 1919. Flood <strong>of</strong> "Apr. 9, 19T8, reached a stage<br />

<strong>of</strong> 37.5 feet (discharge, 46,500 second-feet), from gage reading and discharge nfeasure-<br />

ment by Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers, U. S. Army.<br />
