Notebook with entries, some dated, by Edward Gordon Craig about Isadora
Duncan. With holograph leaves laid in and others pasted down. Also contains index
sewn in, wrapped in brown paper, title "Self portrait / I & I, 1947 December to ..."
with a map of Berlin pasted opposite first entry. With this: Edward Gordon Craig's
holograph memoirs of the beginning of his relationship with Isadora Duncan, 5
leaves (5 pages), dated Paris, December 1943, with a note at the top "Maria
(Casares) is listening." In a cream colored linen box with "Isadora E.G.C." on the
spine.

Letter from Edward Gordon Craig, dated 28 April 1913, to his mother, Ellen Terry,
regarding the death in Paris of his child by Isadora and why he will not go to Paris.
Included is a description of the memorial service for the children sent to him by
"Kessler", who wrote, "Everyone in Paris is moved to the depths of their hearts."

Scope and Content Note
Memoir of a performance at Queen's Hall by Isadora Duncan and press conference
the next morning. 10 loose leaves sewn into a paper cover, decorated with gilt and
green borders, "Isadora" in gilt, with a pattern of leaves in the center. The 6
typescript pages are decorated with gilt borders, and 10 clippings of reproduced
photographs and sketches have been tipped in, each page decorated with a
pattern of leaves at the bottom of the page.
