3.4.3.1 GGSTAT GGSTATS Calling sequences Purposes Input file Listing Notes Example GGSTAT infile GGSTATS infile DKRZ GRIB/EXTRA Format Module Documentation GGSTAT Print header information and simple statistics for each field in a file. GGSTATS Print header information for each field in a file. infile Required Grid and/or spectral file For each field both programs print • the record number • a specification of GRID or spherical harmonics (SPEC) • the code • the level (either hektopascal or sigma level number) • GRID - no. of latitudes and longitudes • SPEC - dimensions with product giving length of field Additionally GGSTAT prints • internal number of data mask (0 means no mask) • pack size in bits per data value • GRID - minimum, maximum, mean and variance of field • SPEC - mean of field One line is printed for each record in the file, this may result in a very large printer output. If minimum, maximum, mean and variance are not needed, use the much faster GGSTATS. None PAGE 3.4.3.1
