The battlefi eld also has: three castmetal<br />

Georgia, and Texas; three small stone<br />
markers for individual soldiers; one<br />
stone marker/entrance to the Union<br />

marker where McCook’s brigade<br />
started its attack near Cheatham Hill;<br />
and 11 cemetery stones.<br />
Also, at the start of <strong>Mountain</strong> Road near<br />
the visitor center is a bulletin board<br />
which has maps, safety information,<br />
emergency phone numbers, trail<br />
information, and interpretive activities.<br />
Publications<br />
The park’s offi cial brochure was a 10panel<br />
midi-folder in the 1970s. In 1985,<br />
Harpers Ferry Center (HFC) developed<br />
a “unigrid brochure” for <strong>Kennesaw</strong><br />
<strong>Mountain</strong> NBP in an A-4 size and<br />
printed it in a 4-color format. Currently,<br />
the brochure is being re-designed in the<br />
“B-5” format, and is scheduled to be<br />
released in 2010.<br />
Existing Conditions<br />
Other park staff -produced publications<br />
include rack cards for visitor centers in<br />
the Atlanta region, the Junior Ranger<br />
Program booklet (which sells for $3<br />
each), a battlefi eld newsletter produced<br />
by the <strong>Kennesaw</strong> <strong>Mountain</strong> Historical<br />
Association, a schedule of events,<br />
birder lists, site bulletins and fl yers, and<br />
Education Program packets. Many of<br />
these documents are also available online.<br />
A large number of <strong>Kennesaw</strong>-related<br />
educational publications are off ered for<br />
sale to visitors through the <strong>Kennesaw</strong><br />
<strong>Mountain</strong> Historical Association<br />
(KMHA), the park’s not-for-profi t<br />
cooperating association. Sales items<br />
can also be purchased on-line through<br />
the KMHA bookstore’s website<br />
that is linked to the park’s website.<br />
A percentage of the sales through<br />
KMHA’s bookstore are donated back to<br />
the battlefi eld’s interpretive division for<br />
publications, living history supplies, and<br />
temporary exhibits.<br />
The wayside exhibit at the top parking area of <strong>Kennesaw</strong> <strong>Mountain</strong> puts the battle within<br />
context of the larger Atlanta Campaign.<br />
