Who would have thought back in 1984 that the SPS would become such an established beacon
and a well-known and loved event in the local community, for Expats and French alike ?
Well, it is and we are very proud of what SPS has achieved; and we want to make sure it continues
to delight and surprise audiences every year. The committee works throughout the whole year to
ensure that SPS is able to put on a show at the end of January. This includes working with the
Théâtre Musical de Pibrac through to ensuring all resources needed are available. The committee
ensure that work is progressing with all aspects of putting on a show.
Overall, the Main Committee role covers all the legal requirements of SPS as a registered 1901
Association in France. The committee members are all volunteers (as is everyone in SPS), but it
takes a whole team of dedicated people to be able to produce a pantomime. The committee make
sure that the team is able (and willing) to do this. With more than 100 people involved in total,
the committee needs to guide and ensure that everything is progressing and working as it should.
Putting on a pantomime is a huge commitment on everybody’s part and a huge team effort, but
when you see people leaving the performance smiling, laughing and coming back time after time,
well, that’s why we all do it.
