About the Program
Our program is geared to teaching
preschoolers as well as High School
students. The high school students are in
Child Development I class and are
learning about the development of
preschool age children. These high school
students will take turns teaching and
observing the preschool students. There
will always be a high school instructor
present with experience in Child
Development.
Each week we will begin with a theme that
will be carried out by each of our
teaching groups. Upon arrival each day
we have morning circle time where we
talk about what day it is, the weather,
etc. We will then begin with our
curriculum which will consist of art,
story, science, math, movement and/or
dramatic play. In addition we will have
snack each day around 10:00am. We
strive to fill each day with excitement
and learning.
Our Philosophy
We understand that your child
comes to us with unique experiences,
interests and learning styles. Our goal is
to truly know your child well and use this
knowledge to guide, support and motivate
him or her. We value parent involvement
and encourage you to partner with us to
give your child the most powerful and
joyous learning experience possible.
When
This year our preschool will meet on
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from
8:25am-10:50am. We will have 16
sessions total. Please make sure your
child can attend all classes.
The dates are: Jan 24 th , 25 th , 29 th , 31 st ,
Feb 1 st , 5 th , 7 th , 8 th , 12 th , 14 th , 15 th , 19 th ,
21 st , 22 nd , 26 th , and 28 th .
Cost
We do not charge for preschool. If you
would like to donate to our program you
may write a check to North High School.
Any donations are greatly appreciated
and are used to cover extra supplies and
snacks that are necessary to run a great
program.
Other Details
*We understand that this is a transition
period for many children so we will work
with you to help your child to adjust to
being left at preschool.
*It is also critical for children to be
picked up and dropped off on time to
ensure that the high school students
arrive to their next class on time.
