Multiple-Entry Visas<br />

Multiple-entry Visas are availed to bus<strong>in</strong>ess visi-<br />

tors who have a relationship with either a multi-<br />

national or other reputable local establishments,<br />

and who are frequent visitors to the <strong>UAE</strong>. This<br />

type of visa is valid for six months from the date<br />

of issue and the duration of each stay is 30 days.<br />

The validity is non-renewable. The cost of this visa<br />

is AED 1,000. The visitor must enter the <strong>UAE</strong> on a<br />

visit visa and obta<strong>in</strong> the multiple entry visa while<br />

<strong>in</strong> the country. The visa would be stamped on the<br />

passport.<br />

Mission Entry Visa<br />

Expatriate doctors, eng<strong>in</strong>eers, lawyers and tech-<br />

nicians are entitled to obta<strong>in</strong> the newly <strong>in</strong>troduced<br />

Mission Entry Visa, accord<strong>in</strong>g to an Interior M<strong>in</strong>-<br />

istry’s decision. The visa will be issued to those<br />

who come for temporary jobs with the permis-<br />

sion of the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Labour and Social Affairs.<br />

It is issued for three months for a fee of AED 600<br />

and can be renewed only once for another three<br />

months for an additional fee of AED 1,200, along<br />

with the permission of the labour m<strong>in</strong>istry. Visas<br />

for 90 days are be<strong>in</strong>g issued to workers who are<br />

needed for special projects. Companies are clas-<br />

sified accord<strong>in</strong>g to their size and performance.<br />

A quota is specified for each company and they<br />

will only be allowed to br<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a certa<strong>in</strong> number<br />

of workers on the Mission Entry Visa. Workers<br />

brought <strong>in</strong> must be provided health care and paid<br />

sick leave by the company. The grace period for<br />

renewal or departure of a visitor on a 90-day visa<br />

will be seven days.<br />

Transit Visas<br />

This is a special type of visa which applies to pas-<br />

sengers pass<strong>in</strong>g through <strong>UAE</strong> airports. The pas-<br />

senger can obta<strong>in</strong> a visa for up to 96 hours. The<br />

travel document will be stamped with an entry<br />

seal. The visa is only valid if the passenger is<br />

travel<strong>in</strong>g onwards from <strong>UAE</strong> to another dest<strong>in</strong>a-<br />

tion and not return<strong>in</strong>g to the country of orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />

departure. Only airl<strong>in</strong>es operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>UAE</strong>, as dis-<br />

t<strong>in</strong>ctly from bus<strong>in</strong>ess, may apply for this type of<br />

transit visa.<br />

US Citizens<br />

US citizens (tourists and bus<strong>in</strong>essmen) may apply<br />

to the <strong>UAE</strong> embassies <strong>in</strong> US for a one to ten<br />

year multiple entry visa. A sponsor is required<br />

to grant such visas and the maximum duration of<br />

stay should not exceed 6 months per visit.<br />

German Citizens<br />

German citizens (tourists and bus<strong>in</strong>essmen) may<br />

apply to the <strong>UAE</strong> embassy <strong>in</strong> Germany for a one<br />

or two year multiple entry visa. No sponsor is<br />

required. The maximum duration of stay of visa<br />

holders should not exceed 3 months per year.<br />

The visa fee is AED 1,500.<br />

Streaml<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Tourism Traffic between<br />

Dubai and Oman<br />

Oman visitors (citizens of European Union coun-<br />

tries, Scand<strong>in</strong>avia, America, Canada, Australia,<br />

Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Korea,<br />

Taiwan, Ch<strong>in</strong>a, South Africa, S<strong>in</strong>gapore, Malay-<br />

sia, Switzerland, Indonesia and Iceland) can enter<br />

Dubai as a tourist group or <strong>in</strong>dividual through<br />

Hatta (by obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g “Tourist Entry Permit”). Visi-<br />

tors can stay 30 days <strong>in</strong> Dubai from date of entry.<br />

Visa is free, non-renewable and no sponsor is<br />

required. Application is filled up through hotel or<br />

tour operator.<br />

Dubai visitors (citizens of European countries,<br />

former Soviet Union, America, Canada, Australia,<br />

Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, South Africa, S<strong>in</strong>-<br />

gapore, Malaysia and Ch<strong>in</strong>a) can visit Oman as a<br />

tourist group or <strong>in</strong>dividual through Al Seeb Inter-<br />

national Airport or Al Wajaja Centre (by obta<strong>in</strong>-<br />

<strong>in</strong>g “Tourist Jo<strong>in</strong>t Visa Statement”). Visitors can<br />

stay <strong>in</strong> Oman for 3 weeks. Visa is renewable for<br />

additional one-week stay, free and no sponsor is<br />

required. Application is filled up through hotel or<br />

tour operator.
