• Armstrong floors may be used on stair steps, risers and landings. A manufactured slip-retardant nosing

flash coving in the same category as baseboard trim with respect to fire rating. Consult applicable codes 

for the particular project to determine the interpretation of allowable height for flash cove.

Armstrong warrants its regular (first quality) 

commercial floor products to be free from 

manufacturing defects for (see applicable products 

and years below) from the date of purchase. 

INSTALLATION 

Armstrong warrants the installation integrity for 

products from the date of purchase through the 

warranty period (see applicable products and 

years below) if installed according to the 

Armstrong Guaranteed Installation Systems 

manual, F-5061. The F-5061 manual is revised on a 

yearly basis, and floors must be installed according 

to the recommendations contained in the issue 

of F-5061 that is current and available at the time 

of installation. The applicable warranty for new 

product installations not yet included in the current 

version of F-5061 shall be the warranty and 

installation guidelines and procedures as outlined 

in the new applicable product literature, until such 

time that the F-5061 has been updated. 

WORKMANSHIP 

Armstrong does not warrant the installers’ 

workmanship. Workmanship errors should be 

addressed to the contractor who installed the 

floor. Your Armstrong ® commercial floor should 

be professionally installed by contractors who 

have demonstrated expertise in installing 

commercial floors.

Within One Year: 

If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to 

Armstrong in writing within one year of purchase, 

Armstrong will supply new material of the same 

or similar grade sufficient to repair or replace 

the defective material. Armstrong will also pay 

reasonable labor costs. 

Within Two Years: 

If a defect covered by this warranty is reported to 

Armstrong in writing after one year but within two 

years of purchase, Armstrong will supply new 

material of the same or similar grade sufficient 

to repair or replace the defective material. 

Armstrong will also pay 50 percent of the 

reasonable labor costs. 

After Two Years: 

If a defect covered by this warranty is reported 

to Armstrong in writing after two years but within 

(see applicable products and years below) of 

purchase, Armstrong will supply new material of 

the same or similar grade sufficient to repair or 

replace the defective material. Armstrong will not 

pay labor costs. 

Armstrong will not pay labor costs to repair or 

replace material with defects that were apparent 

before or at the time of installation.

Armstrong guarantees to the original purchaser 

that, for 15 years from the date of original 

purchase, your locking laminate floor: 

• Will not stain 

• Will not fade from sunlight or artificial light

• Will be free from manufacturing defects 

• Will not unlock at the seams 

ARMSTRONG WARRANTY 

PROTECTION MEANS 

If you make a claim and follow our service 

procedures within the first year after date of 

purchase, Armstrong will provide materials either 

to repair or replace the defective area of the 

floor at our option. If the floor was professionally 

installed, Armstrong also will pay reasonable labor 

costs to repair or replace the defective area of 

your floor. If you make a claim after the first year 

after date of purchase and before the end of your 

limited warranty period, Armstrong will provide 

or pay a percentage of the reasonable material 

and labor costs (if the floor was professionally 

installed), for repair or replacement, at our option, 

of the warranted product. This percentage will 

be based on the number of years from the 

date of purchase and the remaining warranty 

period of the product, up to 15 years after date 

of purchase. For example, for a professionally 

installed product, which is covered by a 15-year

WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER 

This warranty does not cover damage caused by: 

• Improper care and maintenance (see our

• Accidents, abuse, or misuse 

• Abnormal wear and tear such as damage

protection from furniture, pebbles, sand and 

other abrasives 

• Improper workmanship, or installation not 

in accordance with Armstrong’s installation 

instructions 

• Water damage from excessive moisture in a 

concrete slab, hydrostatic pressure, flooding 

caused by malfunctions from appliances such 

as dishwashers, ice makers, refrigerators, 

sinks, pipes or from natural disasters 


EXCLUSIONS 

The following are not covered by this warranty: 

• Improper installation 

• Differences in color between products and 

samples or photographs 

• Indentation from improper loading including high 

heels, spiked shoes, rolling loads, chairs or other 

furniture not using floor protectors 

• Discoloration 

• Failure of the floor to adhere to the subfloor due 

to, for example, moisture, alkaline or hydrostatic 

pressure from the subfloor 

• Inappropriate end-user activities 

THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES BEYOND THIS 

EXPRESSED WARRANTY. ALL OTHER 

WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF 

MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A 

PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXCLUDED. 

ARMSTRONG EXCLUDES ANY LIABILITY FOR LOST

The warranties described herein are given to the 

original purchaser only AND ARE SUBJECT TO THE

cover only approved product applications as 

recommended by Armstrong ® Commercial 

Hardwood Floors and are effective on Armstrong 

products purchased after July 1, 1999

FULL LIFETIME STRUCTURAL 

INTEGRITY WARRANTY 

Armstrong Commercial Hardwood Floors warrants 

its products, in their original manufactured 

condition, to be free from defects in lamination, 

assembly, milling, dimension and grading. Structural 

Integrity means that products will remain free from 

defects in lamination, assembly, milling, dimension 

and grading for as long as the original purchaser 

owns the home or commercial flooring. Armstrong 

additionally warrants that all its engineered 

hardwood flooring products, even when applied on 

a radiant heated concrete subfloor with a surface 

temperature not exceeding 85° F (29° C), will not 

buckle, cup or warp for as long as the original 

purchaser owns the home or commercial flooring, 

when properly installed and maintained according 

to Armstrong installation instruction procedures 

and when properly maintained in accordance with 

such instructions and the floor care directions 

provided on floorexpert.com. Hardwood flooring, 

being a natural product, will continue to expand 

and contract through normal heating and nonheating 

seasons. Properly installed hardwood 

floors may consequently experience some 

separation between boards at different times 

during the year. If such separations occur, they are 

not covered by this warranty. 

FULL LIFETIME ADHESIVE 

BOND WARRANTY 

Armstrong Commercial Hardwood Floors also 

warrants its Armstrong-approved recommended 

adhesive, when properly installed with engineered 

hardwood flooring products that meet all the 

technical specifications that Armstrong Commercial 

Applicable Products and Years

Hardwood Flooring products meet, will maintain its 

bond for as long as the original purchaser owns 

the home or commercial flooring. Proper job site 

pre-inspection, installation and maintenance 

procedures must be followed. Adhesive breakdown 

caused by subfloor moisture damage and/or 

water damage, including but not limited to, 

broken water pipes or flooding, is not covered 

under this warranty. 

Finish and Impregnated Wood Surface 

Warranties exclude any indentations, scratches 

or surface damages caused by lack of proper 

maintenance, misuse, negligence, spiked heel 

shoes, water, erosion, pebbles, sand, other 

abrasives or insufficient protection on furniture. 

Using manufacturer’s current recommended floor 

care products and floor protection products will 

allow you to maintain your floor’s endless, rich 

beauty. Use of floor care products other than 

those especially formulated for use on 

manufacturer’s flooring, may damage your 

floor and void the warranty. 

3-YEAR PERMION ® COATING 

FINISH WARRANTY 

Products are warranted to the original 

owner/purchaser that the Permion urethane 

surface wear layer will not wear through or 

separate from the wood floor for a full 3 years 

from the date of purchase when used under 

normal commercial traffic conditions. 

ARMSTRONG WARRANTY 

PROTECTION MEANS 

If in the unlikely event any portion of your floor 

should fail with respect to the provisions of these 

warranties, Armstrong, at its sole option, to the 

original purchaser, will repair, refinish or replace

Note 2: The uniquely textured surface of SAFETy ZONE requires that close attention be paid to maintenance. Using conventional commercial floor finishes makes maintenance of the embossed surface easier. 

Do not use too much floor finish because it will reduce the slip-retardant characteristics of the tile’s surface. As a guideline, maintaining 4 to 5 coats at all time should be sufficient.
