I Positions Covered:<br />

This Employment Policy shall cover all management and confidential employees of Jefferson<br />

Community College.<br />

II Professional Obligations:<br />

Persons serving at Jefferson Community College in management or confidential positions not covered<br />

by the Faculty Association Contract are employees at will and perform specific managerial or<br />

confidential responsibilities rather than working a specified number of hours.<br />

III Appointments:<br />

All appointments of management and confidential employees are for the College fiscal year, or portion<br />

thereof, and may be renewed annually. The fiscal year begins on September 1 and ends the following<br />

August 31.<br />

IV Benefits:<br />

A. Vacation:<br />

Vacation Leave credits will be earned proportionally throughout the work year. Persons serving<br />

in management or confidential classification shall be eligible to accrue credit for vacation leave<br />

at the rate of twenty‐one (21) days of vacation for one to ten (10) years of employment,<br />

twenty‐three (23) days of vacation after ten (10) full years of employment, twenty‐five (25)<br />

days of vacation after fifteen (15) full years of employment, and thirty (30) days of vacation<br />

after twenty (20) full years of employment. Accumulation of vacation leave shall not exceed<br />

fifty (50) days. In the event of death, retirement, resignation, or other separation from service,<br />

persons in management and confidential positions shall be compensated for such accumulated<br />

and unused vacation leave credits not to exceed a maximum of forty (40) days, such payment<br />

to be computed on the basis of the basic annual salary otherwise payable.<br />

B. Holidays:<br />

In addition to vacation, employees shall receive 12 paid holidays (schedule as approved by the<br />

Board of Trustees).<br />
