Instructional Hockey (IH) Ages 6 and Up<br />

Pre-Requisite: Students must pass either LTS Tot 3 or Tot Hockey 4 to<br />

participate (if a 4 year old has passed Tot 3 or Tot Hockey 4, he/she may<br />

participate in Instructional Hockey). Students (age 6 & over) must pass<br />

Basic 1.<br />

Instructional Hockey is for beginner players (boys & girls) looking to develop<br />

stick handling and hockey skating skills. Ideal for players considering<br />

Rec-Hockey in the future. Equipment required: Supply own equipment;<br />

approved ice hockey helmet with cage, hockey gloves, ice hockey junior<br />

stick (straight blade), and hockey skates. It is recommended that players<br />

also wear protective equipment. (Note: this protective equipment can be <strong>of</strong><br />

any type, i.e. soccer or rollerblade equipment).<br />

Attention the arena is looking for boys and girls interested in working<br />

on skills and learning the game <strong>of</strong> hockey. Students from Tot Hockey or<br />

Instructional Hockey, Travel and Rec Hockey can participate.<br />

Adult Open Hockey Ages 18 and Up<br />

This non-checking program is for players that want to develop their<br />

skills before entering the adult league or for those looking for casual<br />

exercise. Players must be at least 18 years <strong>of</strong> age. Full equipment is<br />

required including helmets with a half shield or full-face cage helmet<br />

(recommended). Fees are paid weekly before taking the ice.<br />

Teen Nights Ages 12 & Up<br />

Bring your Friends for a fun filled evening <strong>of</strong> ice skating with the DJ playing<br />

your favorite music!!! This is a targeted skate night for the middle school<br />

age student but skater’s younger than 12 may attend if accompanied by an<br />

adult.<br />

February 8, March 8, April 12 Friday 8:30 – 10:30 p.m.<br />

Resident/Nonresident: $4 / Skate Rental: $2<br />

Father-Daughter Skate Ages 3 and up<br />

Dads - signup now for a great afternoon <strong>of</strong> fun with your daughter ages 3<br />

and older. Festivities begin at 12 p.m. upstairs with games and activities<br />

and you’ll have the opportunity to have your photo taken together! Each<br />

daughter will receive a gift, too. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed<br />

by ice skating at 1:30 p.m.<br />

Mother-Child Skate Ages 3 and up<br />

older. Festivities begin at 12 pm upstairs with games and activities and<br />

you’ll have the opportunity to have your photo taken together! Each child<br />

will receive a gift, too. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by ice<br />

skating at 1:30 p.m.<br />

Play Date on Ice Ages 6 & under<br />

Every Tuesday through April 23, <strong>Mentor</strong> Ice Arena <strong>of</strong>fers a play date for<br />

any child not yet in first grade accompanied by at least one skating adult.<br />

Program includes assistance as needed, push buckets, Snow Mountain,<br />

cartoons and refreshments for children. Strollers are welcome.<br />

Tuesday, 10:30 – 12 p.m.<br />

Resident/Nonresident: $4.50/person (skates included)<br />

Home School Skate Ages 4 - 17<br />

Every Thursday through April 25, <strong>Mentor</strong> Ice Arena provides ice time for<br />

this exciting and beneficial form <strong>of</strong> recreation for home school children.<br />

Parents are not required to skate with children.<br />

Thursday, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.<br />

Resident/Nonresident: $5/person (skates included)<br />

Any skater who has passed Basic 6 is eligible to skate with the <strong>Mentor</strong><br />
