hew! August was an exciting month. The big new was,
W of course, Hurricane Irene. The first major storm of the
season obviously had an interest in old cars, as she decided to
visit the beach on the day of our 38th Annual Meet. Happily,
thanks to the quick action of Meet Chairman Sam Kern, Meet
Committee members, and the TRAACA Board, we not only rescheduled
the event for October 15th, but managed to do it without
penalty! More information is provided in this issue of the
Mud Flap.
Our next event is a new one - the manifold Picnic, coming up
this Saturday (September 10th). No, you don‘t HAVE to cook
something on your engine - but there will be contests and prizes
for those who do. Northwest River park in Chesapeake is a
beautiful location and promises to be a lot of fun. Please come
out!
Finally, set aside the weekend of October 29-30 for our exciting
Fall Tour to Petersburg! The distance and routes are all antique-car
friendly, and planned activities should be fun for all.
