“It’s not the one big thing. It’s the
thousand ‘little things’ we do that
make Sea Ray the best.” –C.N. Ray, Founder
Since 1959, Sea Ray has worked hard
to establish a proud heritage of
building premium quality boats and
yachts. The principles of steadfast
attention to detail and dedication to
customer satisfaction that were handed down by
our founder, C.N. Ray, have led us to create the
most advanced manufacturing facilities, the most
reliable dealer network, and the most precedent-
setting programs in the marine industry. Not so we
could be the biggest, but so we could be the best. At
Sea Ray, we will always pay attention to the “little
things” that other brands don’t. We call it added
value, and it’s one of our defining characteristics.
“You might find a boat with a lower
base price, but you’ve got to ask yourself
what’s missing?” –Rick Stone, President
At Sea Ray, we build to a standard,
not a price. Every one of our
boats is a reflection of our
commitment to precision,
innovation and craftsmanship.
So if you see a deal on another boat that’s too good
to be true, ask yourself the following questions:
1. What corners in design, construction, layout,
performance and durability were cut in order to
save a few bucks up front?
2. Does the cheaper boat have as many standard
features, or are you forced to add options to get
similar equipment?
3. What about the dealer’s long-term stability and
commitment to service and support after the sale?
4. Does the competitive brand have as strong a resale
value as Sea Ray?
We’re confident that once you go through this
discovery process, you’ll see that the true investment
value lies with Sea Ray.
The average tenure of our dealers is 23 years in business.
Sea Ray Sport Boats are subjected to a thorough inspection during every step of production.
When you consider our 50 years in the business,
our unmatched attention to product detail and our
unrivaled global dealer network, there’s simply no
equal in the marine industry. Sea Ray is committed to
providing investment security and owner confidence
— before, during and after the sale. That’s the Sea Ray
Assurance.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
The best-built boat on the water starts with the most
dedicated team of professionals working in stateof-the-art
facilities. Sea Ray has invested more than
$70 million in the past three years in product design,
quality and manufacturing improvments. In fact,
we introduce more new models each year than most
boat manufacturers have total models in their line.
Why is this important? Because many of our
competitors keep the same boat in their portfolio
for years and in a few cases even decades (sometimes
referred to as “classic styling”). At Sea Ray, the
average age of our portfolio is 1.4 years. This means
you are getting the newest products, using the latest
technology and the freshest designs in the industry.
We introduce more new models each year than any other boat builder.
Computer Aided Design. Sea Ray uses Computer
Aided Design (CAD) technology to create a virtual
prototype before any physical work is done. This allows
us to put each design through more stress testing than
a boat will ever see in the real world and helps us to
ensure that the manufacturing will be as reliable and
efficient as possible. The benefit to you is a superior
quality product developed in a timely manner.
Scale Models & Full-Size Mock-Ups. Once
we’re ready for a physical prototype, we build scale
models to test water balance and full-size mock-ups
to analyze every inch of a new design — trying the
seating positions, checking the line of sight from the
helm and climbing through the hatches. We study
a boat’s every feature, making modifications where
necessary, resulting in an ergonomic design that’s sec-
ond to none. This explains your comfort in a Sea Ray.
3.

Advanced Robotics. Our computerized mill, the
largest in the industry, uses CAD data to
create master patterns that are accurate to 1/1,000th
of an inch. Laser-guided robots apply gel-coat of a
strict consistency and thickness to the hull and deck.
Less exacting methods can result in coatings that
are too thick and will crack, or too thin and don’t
provide adequate coverage. Instead of using paper
patterns and electric scissors to cut fabrics, Sea Ray
insists on the precision of a computer to drive its
fabric cutting process. Bottom line: Sea Ray gives
you a more accurate, higher quality boat.
Closed-Mold Technology. Sea Ray produces
more than 40,000 closed-molded parts a year. We
utilize this technology to ensure that the correct
amount of resin is injected into your boat’s molded
components. The outcome is a consistent,
structurally sound piece that is smooth fiberglass
on both sides for good looks and simple cleanup.
Engine Compartments. We finish our engine
compartments with gel-coat containing a wax additive
Our computer-driven robots make cuts with accuracy to 1/1,000th of an inch.
that repels water and petroleum-based products. In
addition, our aluminum engine mounts are thru-
bolted on top of the stringer system for long-term
alignment. Each engine hatch has a rubber seal that,
in combination with foam insulation, greatly reduces
engine noise. It all adds up to easy upkeep and a
more relaxed atmosphere for you and your guests.
Fiberglassed Bulkheads. Each bulkhead is
fiberglassed to both the hull and deck, creating one
integral part for added strength and longevity. You’ll
enjoy a more structurally-sound vessel with less
rattles and less hassles than a boat where bolts or
other joining methods are used.
Fixed Fuel Tanks. Our fuel tanks are installed
with banding straps rather than L-brackets or
another non-supporting method. This means the
fuel tanks are an integrated component of the hull,
resulting in increased strength and less vibration and
noise — which makes for a quieter, more enjoyable
boating experience.
4.

COMPONENTS
Our owners demand the best equipment aboard
their boats, and Sea Ray delivers. No doubt that’s
another reason why they say they’d never buy
another brand.
SmartCraft ® Digital Instruments. All of our
Select, Select EX, Sundeck ® , Amberjack ® ,
Sundancer ® and Sedan Bridge models come with
SmartCraft digital instruments that link the boat’s
controls, systems and engines to internal and external
sensors, delivering a constant stream of information at
a glance. These custom gauges and displays provide
unparalleled accuracy and data that helps you
maximize power and efficiency. You’ll be able to
cruise economically and make command decisions
with confidence.
Helm visors eliminate glare from above. Designated panels accommodate electronics.
Sony ® Stereo Systems. All of our boats feature
a Sony AM/FM stereo with CD player, weatherproof
speakers, and either an MP3 port or iPod connector
— sometimes both. Depending on the model, other
standards include an amplifier, subwoofer, in-dash
tweeters and digital cockpit remote. Many boats
have optional upgrades such as subwoofer/amplifier
combos and digital transom remotes. The addition of
Sony equipment provides high-grade entertainment
to our owners.
5.

Assurance
Axius, Zeus & Total Command. These amazing
propulsion systems will revolutionize the way you
boat with their intuitive docking joysticks. Because
they provide multi-directional thrust, they greatly
enhance maneuverability and efficiency. Best of all,
you get effortless, fingertip control when docking
and more carefree boating all around. Axius, Zeus
and Total Command are available as standard or
optional equipment on many of our Sport Boats,
Sport Cruisers, Sport Yachts and Yachts.
Independently-articulating pod drives power our Zeus boats.
Sport Spoilers & Arches. Sea Ray sport spoilers
and arches are seamless fiberglass, not painted
aluminum. This creates a solid, integral part that
compliments the exterior styling and will not dull
or yellow over time. You’ll enjoy less maintenance
and better long-term value.
Windshield Frames. Our windshield frames
are made exclusively for us and are almost twice the
standard thickness. A stronger windshield is safer,
quieter and more durable.
Axius and Zeus provide tighter turns and enhanced performance.
Premium Hardware. Sea Rays are equipped
stem to stern with premium, 316L stainless-steel
hardware. This includes bow rails, rub rail inserts,
swim ladders, grab handles, thru-hull fittings and
custom cleats that are thru-bolted for extra weight
capacities. In addition to good looks, this hardware offers
superior corrosion resistance and simple care requirements.
So you can concentrate on having fun.
6.

PRODUCT QUALITY
Quality is an every step, every day journey. Sea Ray’s
higher standards in the highest accolades in the industry.
Quality Control. Your boat never leaves our sight
during construction, literally, through ongoing sight
inspection, and virtually, through our In-Plant Interactive
Quality Control System. The latter provides a “real-time
report card” of your boat as it goes through production.
If we notice any process falling below our standards, we
make the corrections before your boat reaches the next
phase of completion. Then we complete a root-cause
analysis to update our production system so subsequent
boats don’t encounter a similar issue.
Product Testing. When you buy a Sea Ray, you’re
buying into our rigorous testing and validation pro-
gram. It starts with putting our prototypes through
every possible situation to see if they perform up to
specification and then continues with evaluations
throughout the entire manufacturing cycle, end-
ing with postproduction trials. See a short list of the
lengths we’ll go to in order to ensure that you enjoy
your boat for years to come in “Testing 1, 2, 3…”
(right).
Testing 1, 2, 3…
Prototype and Development Phase:
Utilizing our Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology,
our engineers are able to simulate more stress testing than
a boat will ever see in the real world.
We create quarter-sized molds of our prototype hulls for
running attitude, water balance and tow testing purposes.
Then, we create full-size models using existing hull pieces
and cardboard and wood pieces to see how everything fits
together.
Every Sport Yacht and Yacht prototype takes a brutal
pounding in the Atlantic Ocean to evaluate the seaworthiness
and resiliency of our hull designs. We try different engines
and propellers until we get the best combination.
Sea Ray adheres to American Society for Testing and
Materials (ASTM) specifications and uses an accelerated
UltraViolet weather tester to see how sun affects our vinyl
and gel-coat. A typical test lasts for 400 hours, which
equates to approximately two years of outdoor exposure
under intense sun.
For accelerated salt-water testing, Sea Ray employs a salt
fog corrosion test per ASTM standards. Testing lasts for
200 hours, which equates to approximately two years of
exposure to salt water with no maintenance. This lets us
know how our materials age in marine conditions.
In-Production Testing and Evaluation:
Every Sport Cruiser, Sport Yacht and Yacht spends
an average of 1.5 hours under a 60-PSI blast of water
that travels the entire length of the boat. Additional
jets concentrate on the hatch and hull window seal
areas. This “perfect storm” equates to a torrential
downpour with the boat running at approximately
30 mph. The canvas cockpit enclosure is included in
this testing.
Every Sport Boat is inspected to ensure that all
systems are working properly. Production models are
selected daily for additional testing.
Every Sport Cruiser undergoes a “float tank test” in
the plant and then an additional sea trial to ensure
that all systems are working properly.
Every Sport Yacht and Yacht production model
undergoes a sea trail to test critical systems.
7.

Marine Industry Certifications. Sea Ray
boats are National Marine Manufacturers Association
(NMMA) certified and meet or exceed applicable
US Coast Guard and American Boat & Yacht
Council (ABYC) standards. In 1996, Sea Ray also
became the world’s first recreational fiberglass
boat builder to have all of its production facilities
operate under the prestigious ISO 9002 Quality
Assurance
Management System. The benefit
is a boat you can trust to
perform from the moment
you step on board with your
loved ones.
Product Excellence Awards. We are thrilled
to have earned numerous awards for customer satis-
faction, including more than 30 from the NMMA
(more than any other boat manufacturer). We’ve
also earned the Mercury ® MerCruiser ® Installation
Quality Award, certifying that we have met stringent
quality requirements. These awards signify that
Sea Ray has made a solid, long-term commitment
to continuously improving product quality and
customer satisfaction.
which is build a full line of premium vessels from 17 to
60+ feet. Whether you’re headed out for a day of wet and
wild wakeboarding, or slipping the lines for an extended
cruise, Sea Ray has the vessel to take you there. And
when you’re ready to trade up, we’ll be happy to keep you
in the family with our incredible owner loyalty program.
Manufacturing Facilities. Our manufacturing
facilities utilize state-of-the-art technology, superior
craftsmanship and unmatched attention to detail. Every
Sea Ray is conceived at our 70,000-square-foot Product
9.

Global Dealer Network. Our dealer network
consists of the largest and most knowledgeable group
of marine sales and service personnel in the world.
They’re the most tenured (averaging 23 years in
business) and the most recognized (with more Boat-
ing Industry magazine “Top 100” dealers than any
other manufacturer). Seventy percent of our dealers
are enrolled in our Master Dealer program*, meaning
they’ve dedicated significant time and effort to being
better than the competition. From your first step into
the showroom until you take
delivery of your boat — and
beyond — you’ll be
assured of our dealers’
commitment to being there
for you in the long run.
The AquaPalooza Signature Event attracted an estimated 2,500 total boats.
The Sea Ray Lifestyle. Every owner of a Sea Ray,
new or used, receives automatic membership in The
Sea Ray Owners Club*. In fact, we have the second
largest active owners club in the world, second to
only Harley-Davidson. One of our goals is to engage
each owner and help them enjoy their boat through
rendezvous, cruises, dock parties, off-season events and
AquaPalooza ® , The World’s
Largest Boating Party.
Our owners can also share
the fun experiences of
other boaters through the
pages of Sea Ray Living
magazine, which they
receive four times a year.
*Master Dealer and Sea Ray Owners Club programs are available in the US and Canada.
Spotlight on Sport Boats
Dynamic Hulls. Our Sport Boat hulls are deep-V and
feature sharp, deep running strakes that “grip” the water
for enhanced driver control. You’ll experience quick planing
times and dependable performance, even in rough water,
unlike the flatter hulls of traditional water-sport boats.
Each of our Sport Boat hulls is reinforced with
a fiberglass stringer system for the ultimate in strength
and longevity.
Our custom windshield frames are almost twice the standard thickness.
Curved Windshield Design. Our Sport Boats
use a low-profile, curved windshield supported by struts
that line up with the frame. This gives you a superior
view and sleek, sporty style. Many of our competitors
use angular windshield designs with struts that are poorly
placed. This can cause sight-line problems and block the
path to the bow.
Power Assisted Steering. All Sea Ray Sport Boats
come with power assisted steering for enhanced driver
comfort and control, whether you’re pulling a skier or
navigating through a crowded harbor. This feature is
optional on many competitive models, or simply not
available at all.
Six full-length running strakes provide lift and control on the 250 Select EX.
Finished Floors & Lockers. Our Sport Boats
have solid fiberglass floors that are molded into a
complete inner liner to help drain water and resist
corrosion. In addition, every storage compartment
has a gel-coat interior that simply wipes clean to
keep your boat looking new. Vinyl matting inside
our wakeboard/ski lockers keeps your gear high and
dry (other builders use carpeting, which soaks up
water). It’s all about ease of use and upkeep.
11.

Snap-In Carpet. No cheap, glued-in carpeting here.
Sea Ray offers snap-in carpet as a standard or option on
board all our Sport Boat models.
ShoreLand’r ® Trailers. We’ve paired many of our
Sport Boats with ShoreLand’r trailers because of their
solid track record for quality and reliability. These NMMA-
certified haulers have a unique V-frame design and
custom-fit support to keep your boat’s center of gravity as
low as possible. As a result, it rides better and is easier to
load and unload.
Snap-in carpeting is more comfortable on your feet and makes for easy clean-up.
Optional Layouts & Packages. Optional layouts
and packages allow owners to personalize their boat
for superior comfort and versatility based on how they
intend to use it. You can incorporate features like back-
to-back seats, sun pads, aft lounges with flip-up backrests,
water-sports towers and more.
ShoreLand’r Trailers comes with a five-year limited warranty.
12.

Spotlight on Sport Cruisers
Hardworking Hulls. A misconception is that “highperformance”
hulls are faster than the hardworking
deep-V hulls offered by our Sport Cruisers. Not true.
Our sterndrive-powered Sport Cruisers produce equiva-
lent — if not better — top speeds than most comparable
high-performance models. This means you not only get
high-speed thrills, but also improved handling in all kinds
of sea conditions, where high-performance boats can
often fall short.
Our rear-facing seats easily fold away when you want more room for swimming.
Rear-Facing Transom Seats. Our 270, 310, 330,
and 350 Sundancers boast foldaway, rear-facing transom
seats that transform your swim platform into a patio on
the water. These perches are perfect for watching the kids
splash around behind the boat, or simply for enjoying a
quiet moment at sunset.
Every Sport Cruiser undergoes a four-mile test run in the open water.
Structural Integrity. Each of our Sport Cruiser
models utilizes a unique interior framing system
(or jig) that provides enhanced consistency and
efficiency on every boat. This important component
to the manufacturing process allows for the alignment
of stringers and structural bulkheads, meaning
a higher quality finished product that will last longer
and remain stronger and quieter over time.
13.

Extra Large Portlights. Our 270, 310, 330, and
350 Sundancers incorporate extra large portlights that
allow natural light to flow throughout the spacious
interiors. This illuminating feature brings the outdoors in
and gives you a more open, atmospheric cabin to enjoy.
Resin-Coated Stringers. All stringers are resin-coated
prior to installation and then bedded with structural
bonding compound, creating a clean radius and filling
any voids between the stringer and hull bed. This results
in a stronger hull-to-stringer bond and reduces the pos-
sibility of cracking at the stringer/hull interface.
Water Manifold System. Like our Sport Yachts
and Yachts, our larger Sport Cruisers have a unique
water manifold system that includes separate water lines
going to each unit on the boat. This provides for easy
identification and shut-off points of individual water
lines for maintenance. Because each head, faucet, etc.
has a dedicated line, it also means you don’t have to shut
off the whole water system for repairs and reduces the
number of breaks and bends in the line — so there’s less
overall chance of leaks.
We use wide steps for easy access to the foredeck.
Our extra large portlights greatly increase interior light and ambiance.
Sump Pump Boxes. These standard items auto-
matically discharge water from the sink and shower to
prevent it from accumulating in the bilge area.
14.

Spotlight on Sport Yachts
& Yachts
Ocean-Born Hulls. Our Sport Yacht and Yacht hulls
are designed at our sophisticated Product Development
and Engineering Facility encompassing 70,000-square-
feet of prime waterfront space. We put all of the models
created here through the most extensive testing and
validation procedures in the industry, culminating in six
weeks of nonstop testing in the water. This way, you can
have confidence that your boat will perform reliably both
in sight of land and miles out at sea.
Underwater Exhaust. Sea Ray Sport Yachts and
Yachts utilize our patented underwater exhaust system.
This user-friendly feature reduces engine noise while un-
derway and provides for a cleaner transom area, making
your cruising even more enjoyable.
Welded bow rails and raised toe-rails provide crucial security on deck.
Stanchions & Toe Rails. The bow rail and stanchions
are welded together to keep moisture out and
reduces the chance of a rusty streak dripping out of the
stanchion base. Additionally, the base of the stanchion
is raised off the deck surface, providing further protection
from water intrusion. All Sport Yachts and Yachts have
a raised fiberglass edge — or toe rail — that travels the
perimeter of the deck.
Every Sport Yacht and Yacht prototype is tested in the Atlantic Ocean..
Fiberglass Shaft Tubes. We encapsulate the propeller
shaft tubes in fiberglass, thereby eliminating the use of
screws and brackets and increasing the structural integrity
of the shaft unit. In addition, the dripless shaft logs
prevent reflux into the bilge area.
15.

Anchor Features. Sport Yachts and Yachts are
equipped with a windlass system that includes a safety
Every Sport Yacht and Yacht production models is tested and retested on the water.
lanyard and a heavy-duty polished stainless-steel anchor
davit. The anchor shackle (also stainless steel) is attached
with a vinyl-coated stainless-steel cable on one end and a
spring-clip on the other. This system prevents the anchor
and line from being entangled in the prop should the
windlass system allow slippage.
Superior Woodworking. Sea Ray’s unique Cape
Canaveral Woodworking and Finishing Facility supplies
in-house wood components for our Sport Yachts and
Yachts. Here, raw wood is carefully sorted in a tem-
perature- and humidity-controlled environment that
preserves them until needed. Each sheet is checked by a
