honored by VEMA

Media Association (VEMA),
state affiliate of the American
Association of School Librarians
(AASL), has selected Byrd
Middle School as the VEMA
School Library of the Year.
Selected for putting best
practices into action, the Byrd
Library Program brings together
information literacy, skillful
research and inquiry, and
ethical use of technology for all
students.
As a part of her presidential
initiative and “Vision Tour,”
incoming AASL President
Nancy Everhart will visit Byrd
Middle School and each state
winner during her coming
term.
Everheart will recognize
the positive impact of school
library programs led by certified
school librarians.

Library Program will be recognized
on October 28 at the
Annual VEMA Conference
at the Hampton Convention
Center.
