PROGRAM OBJECTIVES<br />
The program objectives <strong>of</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> Intercultural Studies are to:<br />
1. Sustain a core faculty to prepare students in the study <strong>of</strong> language, culture and cross-cultural<br />
communication as they impact the ministry <strong>of</strong> worldwide mission.<br />
2. Maintain specializations in areas that represent the vanguard <strong>of</strong> contemporary mission strategy:<br />
social and cultural anthropology, cross-cultural communication, pr<strong>of</strong>essional service, mission<br />
strategy, Bible translation and linguistics, urban research and ministry, church planting and<br />
development, teaching English as a second language and international development.<br />
Maintain area orientations, such as Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America and the South<br />
Pacific.<br />
