Learning Objectives<br />

The last decade has brought with it multiple<br />

advances in the operative management <strong>of</strong> the<br />

otologic patient. This course is designed to ensure<br />

that otolaryngologists have the latest techniques at<br />

their disposal and are familiar with state-<strong>of</strong>-the-art<br />

management options. It will provide the opportunity<br />

for surgeons to enhance their skills in a variety <strong>of</strong><br />

surgical approaches to the ear, temporal bone and<br />

skull base. By completing this workshop participants<br />

will have an excellent understanding <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following:<br />

• surgery for vertigo<br />

• cochlear implants<br />

• semicircular canal dehiscence management<br />

• middle fossa, translabyrinthine and suboccipital<br />

approaches to the skull base<br />

• bone anchored hearing aid surgery<br />

• inner ear drug delivery<br />
