Lake Cochituate consists of three interconnected ponds, all within the Cochituate State Park. The
park is enjoyed as many as 200,000 visitors each year, many from urban areas in and around Boston.
They come to enjoy swimming, boating, and picnicking. Although houses surround most of the
lake, the state park owns a strip abutting the lake, providing natural scenery for park visitors.
