If you read last week's
article, you now realize we
suffered from a bit of a foul up
in the past few weeks. We feel
sure that we are now back on
course and we shall do our
best to be with you regularly.
Our last week was cold and
windy which is not conducive
to pleasant shuffling, since it
is a little early to put up our
wind breakers. However, with
the coming of Thanksgiving
month, we are sure that Bill
Jeffries and his faithful crew
will soon take care of that
little chore.
We had a nice visit with
John Tice who has had
surgery at two different
times. He is now at home and
seems to have weathered the
storm very well and as a
matter of fact, is already
looking forward to some
action on the courts, which
will probably be in a month or
so.
We certainly were sorry to
hear that Rita Berchtold lost
her mother. We speak for the
entire membership in ex-
tending our sympathy to Rita
and her family.

SKI TRIPS
The youth center is
It was a pleasant surprise to
greet Lyle Olmstead, one of
our most active past mem-
bers. Lyle served as president
and was our tournament
director for many years. The
Olmsteads have been
residents of Florida for about
six years. Our members
would certainly be interested
in the fact that the Olmsteads
are up to celebrate their 50th
wedding anniversary. The
celebration is being held in
Haddonfield in the home of
one of their children.
Another 50th wedding an-
niversary that should interest
our membership was
celebrated on Friday by
Reale and Paul Macrie.
Reale, our hard working
president and tournament
director and Paul who also
gives much of his time to help
maintain and improve our
equipment have contributed
much to enhance the status of
our Ocean City Shufileboard
Club. From our entire
membership, we extend our
congratulations and best
wishes for a "bright and
happy future" to both of these
fine couples.

superb day on the soccer field.

scored a goal while playing
fullback. He took the ball
from mid-field to about the 35-
yard line and drilled the ball
into the goal, while the goalie

scored the sixth goal on a
crossed ball from Steve

game came from Kinmffq
Gorman, who recorded her
first career goal. With 20
seconds remaining in the
game, Klaudia took a penalty
kick and drilled it into the
upper right hand comer of the
net. The ball was kicked in
such a perfect spot, that the
goalie did not even have a
chance for it.
The Islanders will host
Somers Point this Saturday at
10:30 a jn. at 18th St. and Bay
Av.
WAVES, ROTARY
PLAYTOATIE
Dominic Iannace scored a
goal on a beautifully executed
shot in the fourth quarter of
play, for the Waves, to tie the
game 2-2. The Waves had
problems all day trying to
penetrate the tough defense of
the Rotary. John Heist's and
l^»nff> Muzslay"s good defense
prevented the Waves from
scoring on numerous oc-
casions.
Conor Gorman scored for
the Rotary on a solo effort in
the second period and BiDy
Marshall drilled a goal in the
third period.

Derocher teamed up to score
the first goal for the Waves.
