Campaign to End Childhood Hunger
Since 1970, the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC)
has been leading the fight to end hunger in America. FRAC is
a non-profit and nonpartisan research, policy, training, public
education, and advocacy center that also serves as the hub of a
national network of hundreds of state and local organizations
seeking to reduce hunger and improve nutrition.
FRAC is the national coordinator of the Campaign to End Childhood
Hunger, which has achieved huge gains in feeding children in communities
throughout the United States. Along with our grassroots and national Campaign
partners, FRAC is playing a key role in expanding the availability of the School
Breakfast, Summer Food, Afterschool Food,WIC, and Child and Adult Care Food
Programs, the Emergency Food Assistance Program, and Food Stamps.
With the right combination of public and private efforts, hunger in the United States
is one problem that can be solved, and solved in a way that improves health and
well-being, strengthens families and communities and improves the future for children
and the nation.
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Tomie dePaola, award-winning author and illustrator of more than two hundred
books for children, created the artwork for FRAC’s Campaign to End Childhood Hunger.
FRAC gratefully acknowledges Mr. dePaola’s contribution.
