Memorial Service. Cost per person is $42.00.
We will be honoring our departed shipmates by having our Memorial Service aboard
the USS North Carolina, which is moored at Wilmington, NC. Busses will depart the
Landmark Hotel at 8:30AM and arrive in Wilmington at approximately 9:45AM. We
will tour the USS North Carolina until 10:45AM and then be seated for the Memo-
rial Service beginning at 11AM. We will be honored by having Captain Prince, USN
Retired, Chaplain and Color Guard from the NROTC at the John T. Hoggard High
School, Wilmington conduct our Memorial Service. Reading the names of our departed
shipmates and tolling the bell since our last convenion will be done by members of the
Board of Directors. We are honored to have these young high school students conduct
the Services for us and who most likely will follow a career in the U.S. Navy. These
students must be commended for their patriotism and desires to carry-on the duties of
formal personnel who served in the U.S. Navy, in keeping America free. Please express
your appreciation to them. They will also join us for a hot lunch on board, after the completion of the Memorial Service so make them wel-
come.
Busses will leave for the Landmark Hotel at 1:30PM.
Monday - October 31, 2011, PM
Pirates Voyage Theater for Dinner and Show. Cost per person is $53.00.
We will board the busses for the Pirates Voyage Theater at 3:45PM and leave at 4:00PM from the Landmark Hotel. The pre-show entertain-
ment starts at $:30PM with dinner at 6:00PM and the show at 7:00PM. Please be on time since the busses must leave the hotel at 4:00PM.
The Pirates Voyage Theater completed an 11 million dollar transformation with a colorful atmosphere and inter-active family fun begin-
ning in the Pirates Village and a delectable four-course pirate feast and show in the Pirates Voyage Arena. The four course feast consists of
creamy soup, tender baked chicken, mouth watering pork, savory sides, delicious dessert and all the Pepsi, tea or coffee. You’lll thrill to all
the swashbuckling excitement as the Sapphire and Crimson pirates wage battle on the deck,
in the water, and up in the air over their pirate galeions to win the treasure of Davy Jones.
You’ll laugh at the antics of a variety of sea and land animals and delight at the beauty of
free-flying tropical birds. You’ll cheer your crew on to victory as they perform in a 15 foot
deep lagoon inside a 30,000 square foot area. Busses will leave for the Landmark Hotel at the
end of the show.

BrookGreen Gardens - Cost per person is $38.00
A National Historic Landmark. From its beginning in 1931, when Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington
created this non-profit outdoor museum with its majestic oaks and world-renowed sculptures, it has been
a place to restore your soul and renew your spirit. Wide expansive lawns lure you to relax while serene
gardens allow space for a reflection. And that’s not all. Every day Brookgreen offers a selection of tours,
programs, excursions, and exhibits for all ages. Stroll through the gardens on a guided tour or explore
these beautiful spaces on your own.
Your ticket includes admission and the free use of a tram that moves about the gardens where you can de-
part and/or board the tram as desired. The tram circles every 20 minutes with stops at the Welcome Center,
Wall Lowcountry Center and the zoo. Get your free map at the Welcome Center.
Your ticket also includes the Creek Excursion on the boat Springfield which embarks at the Wall Low-
country at 11AM, Noon, 1PM and 2PM. This tour is narrated. The boat only holds 48 people. Your reg-
istration packet will have a ticket listing the boat tour time and a seat number starting with 1 to 48. You
trade-in this ticket for the actual boat ticket at the Wall Lowcountry Center at least 30 minutes prior to
your scheduled tour and be on board 10 minutes before the boat is scheduled to leave. To accommodate
our expected numbers of people on this tour, we will need at least three and maybe four boats so we will
need boats leaving at 11AM, Noon, 1PM and maybe 2PM. Therefore, if you miss your boat schedule, you may lose-out on this tour. You
may exchange your ticket with others on this tour if you want to board a different scheduled boat trip. The boat trip is approximately 50 min-
utes.
Lunch can be purchased at the following:
Pavilion Restaurant near the Welcome Center (full menu offered plus beer)
Wall Lowcountry Center near the Boat Excursion Dock (sandwich or snack at the Courtyard Cafe plus beer)
Old Kitchen near the Offner Sculpture Center (light refreshments including beer)
The Rainey Sculpture Pavilion is located at the entrance to the Huntington Sculpture Garden (next to the Pavilion Restaurant) and contains
two indoor exhibition galleries which display a series of changing exhibits.
The Offner Sculpture Learning and Research Center offers visitors new opportunities to view and study Brookgreen’s world renowned
sculpture collection. Surrounding the Offner and Rainey Sculptures are many Landmark Sculptures such as fountains, pools, etc. Free sculp-
ture tours beginning at 11, 12 and 2PM at the Offner Sculpture Center. Also, visit the Lowcountry Zoo. The tram makes a stop here but some
walking is required.
Busses leave Brookgreen Gardens around 3PM.
