Network description: The NOVA/BOVA Nordplus network works to increase the student and

and scientists in the NOVA /BOVA network will enhance both education and research. The network

Network description: The network “Education for sustainable agriculture in the Baltic Sea region” 

intends to encourage mobility of students and teachers between agricultural universities in the 

Baltic Sea region, and to stimulate co-operation between these universities in vocational matters 

and curriculum planning. The universities co-operating in this network educate students at 

Bachelor- and Master-levels, and network activities therefore generally aim to integrate applied 

science with practical applications. The network headline is the development of sustainable 

agriculture.

Network description: The primary purpose of the present network NORDNATUR is to create a 

Nordic-Baltic HE platform for sustainable ecosystem management. Despite of ecosystems and 

climatic issues being cross-bordering, today’s management of natural resources mostly keeps to 

national borders. We aim at a) improving the quality of higher education within this topic; b) 

building up a cross-bordering understanding of the topic; c) educating future managers and 

researchers that are aware of and can act on international issues of sustainability. For the study 

year 2010/2011, we are aiming at deepening and increasing the quality of the recently enlarged 

network, and at developing joint curricula, intensive courses and master programme with focus on 

climatic issues.

Network description: The purpose is to develop a Joint Nordic Postgraduate Masters Programme 

in Climate Neutral Architecture and Sustainable Built Environment. The aim is to form an advanced 

Nordic education designed to confront the issues of climate strains caused by the built 

environment, with the ambition to develop architectural knowledge on how to 

• design and build for much less resources and energy use, smarter spatial solutions, 

constructions and materials, and in accordance with climate conditions to develop resilient and 

sustainable architecture; 

• take care of existing building stocks by resilient and sustainable conservation and 

transformation; 

• develop and transform cities, regions and urban landscapes that will lead to less climate 

strains, as indicated above, also addressing sustainable aspects of traffic and built environment as 

well as social dimensions such as segregation, democracy, safety, health and accessibility to public 

space. 

The Joint Nordic Postgraduate Master's Programme will focus on climate conditions north of the 

55th longitude, and it will incorporate the concepts of sustainability and resilience in all parts of the 

planning and building processes, from the choice and use of building materials and components, 

through reinforcing and further developing practices of recycling, waste management and low 

energy use, to incorporating “green city" standards in urban planning and management. 

The programme addresses graduated architects, landscape architects, urban planners, engineers, 

constructors and professionals with a bachelor degree – all with at least 5 years of working 

experience. The programme may admit masterstudents from all the Nordic and the Baltic 

countries, as well as students from outside this area. 

Mobility is an essential feature of the programme. The master students will attend studio courses 

at at least four Nordic institutions. A part from the studio courses, the pedagogical approach is 

based on e-learning, group work via internet (Skype), literature study and project work. 

This application has five main objectives: 

1. to make a thorough inventory and analysis of competences among the Nordic and Baltic 

schools of architecture for the indicated master programme; 

2. to make a more thorough inventory and analysis of the academic and professional need and 

expectations for this kind of programme; 

3. to map the gap between existing and needed competences; 

4. to discuss the gap at a Nordic seminar; 

5. on the basis of the analyses, to develop a joint curriculum for a Nordic Postgraduate Master 

Programme as indicated.

Network description: Norteas is a Nordplus network for Nordic and Baltic Theatre and Dance 

Institutions of Higher Education. We focus on sharing about our everyday life, learning from each 

other and aim to network and develop international cooperation and high level teaching of theatre 

and dance arts in the Nordic-Baltic area. Norteas includes 15 Nordic theatre- and dance academies 

of higher education, and from 2008 onwards, additional four institutions from the Baltic countries 

joined the network. New members are Latvijas Kulturas akademija from Latvia, Lietuvos Muzikos Ir 

Teatro Akademija from Lithuania, Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia and Tartu Ülikooli Viljandi 

Kultuuriakadeemia both from Estonia. The latest member of the Network, Høgskolen i Nord- 

Trøndelag (Norway), joined to Norteas in Spring 2009.

Network description: The Explorations in Music and Dance / EMD Network, represents diverse 

higher education institutions of dance and music in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, 

Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and as of 2010 Greenland. All activities are part of the partner 

institutions' ECTS course curriculum structure.

The Explorations in Music and Dance / EMD Network was founded by David Yoken, originally as an 

European Union funded Leonardo da Vinci Vocational Education programme action focused upon 

the “exchange of expertise”. The first action was an “exchange of expertise” study trip to London 

England in October 2004 partial funded by this Leonardo di Vinci programme and included dance 

and music artists teachers led by the Department of Dance, Arts Academy, Turku University of 

Applied Sciences, Turku, Finland; the Kuopio Academy of Music and Dance, Kuopio, Finland ; the 

Royal College of Music, Stockholm, Sweden; the University College of Dance, Stockholm, Sweden, 

and the Danish National School of Contemporary Dance, Copenhagen, Denmark. The Nordic team 

visited, observed and engaged in dialogue with dance and music artist-teachers from the following 

institutions: The Royal Ballet School, The London Contemporary School for Dance, Laban Centre. 

2010 marks the 6th consecutive year the EMD Network has received gracious funding for activities. 

David Yoken is the principle coordinator and grant writer for the EMD Network’s projects. He 

works closely with Antonella Storti, International Coordinator, Arts Academy, Turku University of 

Applied Sciences. 

Current activities are the continuation of the N+ supported Explorations in Music and Dance / The 

E.M.D. Network, 38/2008, 1096/2007, 1096/2006, Musicians Training for Dance /M.T.D. Network 

2005 – 2006 1096/2005: The University College of Dance/Danshögskolan: coordinator of the MTD 

Network. 

As of 2006, The Department of Dance, Arts Academy, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Turku, 

Finland is the Coordinating institution of N+ EMD Network.

practises are combined with media environments and interactive audiovisual art. This year, new

Network description: Globaliseringen, Norden og kunstens former er et fællesnordisk 

studieprogram på MA-niveau, som Aarhus Universitet har inviteret Universitetet i Oslo, NTNU i 

Trondheim, Stockholms Universitet og Karlstad Universitet, samt kunstakademiet i Helsingfors med 

i udviklingen af. Det er formålet med projektet (og denne ansøgning) at videreføre det arbejde, vi 

allerede har gjort i feltet med henblik på et undervisnings- og netværkssamarbejde, der relaterer 

sig til den aktuelle genforhandling af en nordisk identitet i lyset af globaliseringen. Vi har i perioden 

17. sept. 2008 - 1. oktober 2009 fået tildelt midler til udvikling af studieprogrammet, og for 

perioden 15. juni 2009 - 1. oktober 2010 har vi fået midler til mobilitet, netværksaktiviteter og 

fælles studieprogram. Vi har i løbet af de (knapt) to år samarbejdet om tilrettelæggelsen af det 

fælles studieprogram og har i netværket arbejdet med den engelsksprogede bog "Globalizing Art. 

Place, Identity and Transnationalism in Contemporary Nordic Art", der udkommer på Aarhus 

Universitetsforlag i 2010. På de intensive møder i netværket har vi undersøgt mulighederne for 

studiemæssig implementering og har udviklet studieprogrammet til et fælles vidensniveau såvel 

teoretisk som analytisk, så vi (afhængigt af evalueringen) kan etablere studieprogrammet på de 

enkelte involverede universiteter i forlængelse af det intensive sommerskolekursus, der afholdes 

på Aarhus Universitet d. 28. juni - 10. juli 2010 (http://www.nordisk.au.dk/summerschools/ttn10). 

Da vi allerede nu har skullet annoncere undervisningen i 2011 på internettet, har vi igen indleveret 

beskrivelse af en sommerskole i feltet til Aarhus Universitet, da ingen af de andre involverede 

institutioner kunne påtage sig dette arbejde. Vi påtænker altså endnu en sommerskole på to uger i 

juni/ juli 2011, hvilket der også søges mobilitet til. Da feltet er helt nyt, findes der af gode grunde 

ingen tekster, der teoretisk og analytisk behandler relationen mellem Norden, globaliseringen og 

kunstens forandrede indhold og former. Bogudgivelsen, der bliver færdigt i indeværende forår, er 

tænkt som undervisningsmateriale på sommerkurset i år (og - hvis den realiseres - på 

sommerskolen i 2011). Det intensive samarbejde om udviklingen af studieprogrammet, 

planlægningen og annonceringen af den intensive sommerskole og redaktionen af den 

engelsksprogede antologi, har givet os en nødvendig fælles referenceramme i dette nye felt, hvis 

fokus er den del af samtidskunsten, der eksplicit forsøger at afdække det regionales nye rolle i 

lyset af globaliseringen. Det interessante er nemlig, at aktualiseringen af, hvad der kan forstås ved 

begrebet 'Norden', i høj grad er et omdrejningspunkt for den politisk involverede samtidskunst. 

Det er målet at skabe et tværgående nordisk studium i dette nye, dagsaktuelle felt, hvor 

kandidater kan få kompetencer i samtidskunstens anvendelse og kombination af flere medier, 

herunder dens intervention i defineringen af forholdet mellem det regionale og det globale og dens 

artikulation af national og regional kulturel selvforståelse i en globaliseret verden. Programmet 

henvender sig til humanistiske kandidater med en BA-grad fra en af de involverede æstetiske fag, 

og desuden til ph.d.-stipendiater ved alle de nordiske kunstakademier. Kandidaterne får 

kompetencer i den litterære og visuelle samtidskunsts samfundsmæssige interaktion og 

tværæstetiske praksis med særlig henblik på, hvordan den nordiske regions kulturer og steder 

gentænkes og reterritorialiseres i lyset af en globaliseret verden. Arbejdskompetencer bliver i 

undervisnings-, kuraterings- og publikationsbrancher samt tilgrænsende felter.

Network description: Nordisk Textil Net söker alternativa sätt att utforska textilens mångfald 

och nya textila möjligheter i vår tid. Syftet är att tillsammans utveckla utbildningen i textil i Norden 

så att vi med hjälp av våra olika profileringar och kompetenser kompletterar och stöder varandra: 

Målet är en textil utbildning med en meningsfull förankring i det samhälle vi lever i. Nätverket har 

genomgått en utvidgning och förnyelse och omfattar idag flera nordiska utbildningar i textil i vid 

bemärkelse, med inriktning på hantverk och design.

Network description: The KUNO network aims to become a Nordic-Baltic art university without 

walls.By cooperating on a wide range of project activities the member institutions commit

KUNO, the project will seek to identify and communicate learning strategies embedded i practicebased

third level education in folk music. Main focus is to strengthen the Nordic and Baltic folk music

develop our genre within the area of third level music education, so that it is truly appreciated and 

can enrich the area of third level education in general, as well as the Nordic and Baltic music scene 

in general. This year 2010 we have got a newest member country Lithuania.

Network description: Our NordBiz Network has existed for more than 13 years with successful 

student and staff exchange, the development of a double degree program (BusinessPlus) and our 

successful intensive course: Nordic Baltic Perspectives on Marketing. This course is a great 

opportunity to learn marketing and to get a true Nordic-Baltic business culture understanding. 

Our main priority is to assure the quality of all our activities within our NordBiz-network. We make 

sure that the participating universities will support our work. Therefore it is important that our 

“controllers” – the Deans, at our universities have the possibility to meet and discuss our work. 

This year we have invited a new partner to join our network ISM University of Management and 

Economics in Lithuania. This partner can also contribute to the enlargement and new dimensions 

and input of our network. 

We also see the possibility of a quality rise by developing a new course in climatic issues: Business 

Strategies for Sustainable Development. 

The goals of our NordBiz network are: 

- to develop and promote cross-cultural and interdisciplinary courses, academic programs and add 

value to existing education responsive to a changing global environment; 

- to facilitate co-operation between universities and enterprises and improve the 

- exchange of information and know-how; 

- to help create distinct competitive advantages for operators/business and enrich the overall 

image and vitality of the community; 

- to promote activities which enable the exchange of experience and information regarding higher 

education regulations and policies among its members; 

- to enhance the opportunities for educational staff development through staff mobility; 

- to assist university policy makers in developing the academic culture of their institutions, and;

Network description: The most important aim of the EkoTekNord is to promote and develop 

student and teacher mobility in the Nordic and Baltic countries and at the same time to offer the 

students extra dimension with interdisciplinary studies, e.g. within business, engineering, logistics, 

communication and entrepreneurship. Network activities is good way for participating institutions 

to exchange and disseminate experiences, best practices and innovative results. 

This year we plan to launch intensive course MULTICULTURAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE BALTIC 

SEA REGION – OPPORTUNITIES AND OBSTACLES IN COMMUNICATION and development project 

INDUSTRY RELATED COLLABORATION IN EKOTEKNORD NETWORK. 

The new initiative of EkoTekNord for the coming year is express mobility. Express mobility 

should be linked to the outcomes of the study programmes and pre-assignments should be 

carefully planned in order to assure the quality of them. It will serve in making academic 

cooperation between EkoTekNord partners more intensive and will give new possibilities for it, 

e.g. the Nordic/Baltic groups of students doing projects in companies. 

INDUSTRY RELATED COLLABORATION IN EKOTEKNORD NETWORK 

The purpose of the project – to share experiences and best practices between the EkoTekNord 

partner institutions and beyond in the area of collaboration with industry. 

MULTICULTURAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE BALTIC SEA REGION – OPPORTUNITIES AND 

OBSTACLES IN COMMUNICATION 

The purpose of the project is to run a course on Multicultural understanding in the Baltic Sea 

region with the stress on the issues of climate change and pollution. The main learning focus will 

be at an intensive week in Aland Island. 

The special purpose of the field work will be to: 

o Compare theory and practice to construct knowledge 

o Apply methods and theories 

o Gain experience from real international cooperation in teams involving human relations, 

scientific and professional communication 

o By all this to investigate how climate issues are discussed in media and among young 

people in the Baltic Sea region.

Network description: Sustainable development project focuses on continuing the earlier network 

activities. Project involves a former Polaris and NCN networks, joined with International School of 

Law and Business in Vilnius Lithuania. Successful work has preceded this cooperation and all 

partners in the network are eager to contribute to common goals of the projects in the future. 

The main topic of the project is sustainability and sustainable choices in hospitality management. 

Hospitality in this project includes food, catering, tourism and facility management. This project 

involves students in their Bachelor or Master´s degree levels in the higher education. 

The projects emphasize learning and cooperation by sharing good practices, sharing project results 

and research knowledge and by working together closely on chosen topics in the curriculum. Active

sharing and learning from each other will be achieved through seminars, projects and virtual cooperation 

and all actions are enhanced by mobility of teachers and students. 

The network will assess possibilities for joint degree programs and double degrees through 

comparison of existing curricula and standardization of practices.

Network description: The Nordic and Baltic Business Innovation network consists of five 

universities in Finland, Denmark, Norway, Lithuania and Estonia. The network cooperates in the 

fields of business, leadership and management, entrepreneurship, business innovation, design, 

media and engineering. 

The aim of the network is to develop innovative and practice-oriented methods for learning and 

teaching of future business managers for the Nordic and Baltic businesses. There is a need for 

competent managers who have knowledge and skills to operate in the Nordic and Baltic business 

environment. The network organises staff exchanges of competent teachers and gives the 

possibility to students to take part in student exchanges and/or in internships and at the same

time gather knowledge about Nordic and Baltic market areas and region while staying in other 

universities of the network or in business companies in the mentioned countries. The aim of the 

network is to promote Nordic and Baltic cultural understanding and understanding of business 

environment, businesses and business cultures of this region and to strengthen Nordic-Baltic 

relations. The aim is also to make students aware of their own linguistic background and to 

increase understanding for local languages as the basis of thinking and at the same time to 

remove obstacles to business by using common language in communication. The intensive course 

Business in the Nordic and Baltic Countries and virtual studies are examples of curriculum 

development. Business innovation sessions are organised to design new products/services. 

The aim is to increase university-company cooperation and to enlarge the cooperation from 

business company cooperation to cover also cooperation with organisations like the Hub, which are 

involved in promoting social entrepreneurship. The cooperation started with the assignment to 

develop a business concept for the social enterprise Hub Tampere that was given by Hermia Ltd. to 

the intensive course held in September 2009 in Tampere. Earlier assignments given to 

multidisciplinary and multicultural groups have been given by business companies and they 

included tasks to develop business ideas and concepts for new products and services. Hub 

Tampere is opening officially on March 1st 2010. Through the network and Hub cooperation it is 

possible to find out new working tools and innovative business models for new type of enterprises 

and for supporting these businesses. Later on it is possible that in the network there will be 

enterprises set up by the students and these enterprises cooperate through the hubs of other 

network countries, when the Hubs will be established in these countries. Climate and other 

environmental issues are the focus of some of Hub Tampere enterprises, as is saving energy in 

packaging and marketing materials through new innovations for some. 

Through these kind of activities students and staff members are able to work with real-life 

assignments with strict deadlines and to combine forces of the special expertise of all partners.

via the web pages of the institutions of the network, via the magazines and 

other publications of the institutions, by using other media of communication and in seminars, 

conferences and other events.

Network description: The purpose of the project is to host an international intensive week with 

students and academic staff representing the Nordic and Baltic Countries. The subject of the 

conference shall be “Marketing in Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea Region”. The duration of the 

conference shall be one week – an intensive week, with participants from University of Southern 

Denmark, Gotland University/Sweden, HAMK University of Applied Sciences/Finland and Stockholm 

School of Economics in Riga/Latvia. The conferences will be consisting of presentations given by 

students, lectures given by academic staff as well as specialists from relevant organizations. To 

extend the impact of the event, the intensive week shall be accompanied by preparatory and postprocessing 

activities on international level. In addition, since the conference includes students and 

staff participation, it should foster the cooperation between the participating institutions and 

increase the exchange periods. During the previous intensive week in Latvia it has been decided 

that each year the event will be hosted in another host country. The next location of the intensive 

week in 2010 will be decided in the preparatory meeting, which will take place in March 2010. The 

above described operation model has been successful in use during the last three year. The 

activities within this network have considerably increased. There are several aims of the actual 

conference. First, the aim is to increase the awareness and understanding of the participants with 

respect to the Nordic and Baltic dimensions of business. Second, the students will be trained in 

preparing, organizing and participating in an international meeting/conference at a high 

professional and academic level. In addition, the intention is to broaden the participants’ minds 

about how internationalization affects societies, markets and companies in Northern Europe.

Network description: In the project, teachers and students will compare entrepreneurship and 

management methods and include international cooperation in the curriculum of the partner 

institutions of this network. Besides normal student and teacher exchanges, short exchanges of 1- 

2 weeks are used in connection to online-cooperation between correspondent courses in 

management and services studies. 

SAMK has developed a model with partner university in Ireland, and this will be used within the 

Nordplus partners from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. Students 

spend a week at the other university, for to start a project and form international working groups.

In this model groups (5-6 students in each) will have 2-3 students from two different countries. 

There are parallel working groups, with students and mentoring teachers from different 

participating countries. 

A challenge is to plan the courses together between teachers, so first teachers will be connected 

using normal teacher exchanges. Resources are used for this from the ongoing Nordplus project of 

this network. The student mobility part and the online cooperation have to be included in the 

curriculum of the courses. 

The curriculum and online-cooperation will help to enhance also more traditional long student 

exchanges after the project. Another objective is to enhance mobility and curriculum cooperation 

between the "old Nordic" and "new Baltic" member institutions. A partner from Latvia will be 

recruited to the network during the project year.

Network description: The overall aim of the project is to develop a curriculum for present and 

future business leaders and managers. The curriculum must address a factual need for high-quality 

education programmes on management of environmental and ethical responsibilities of business 

and, in this way, contribute to raising business professionals’ awareness of potential business risks 

while at the same time developing their competences for responsible leadership as well as skills to 

design and manage organizational processes which ensure sustainable development of businesses 

and societies in which they operate. 

The objectives of the project are as follows: 

1) increase the quality of teaching of environmental and ethical aspects in business and diminish 

indifference, skepticism and, in some societies, even cynicism towards them, which often results 

from poor and out of date teaching approaches; 

2) highlight the importance of the context in the curricula of education programmes for business 

leaders and managers; 

3) prepare an interdisciplinary case-based course that employs ICT (moodle environment) for 

learning and covers acute topics related to environmental and ethical competence in business 

management and leadership, in advanced (Master or a relevant level) course of the partner 

institutions; 

4) prepare a manuscript of the textbook for university and college teachers that contains the 

developed and in the e-course tried cases, extended teaching notes, insights about difficult points 

that occurred from teaching on-line, recommendations for further reading and development of the 

topics, explicitly highlighting the Nordic/Baltic context; 

5) expand networking among higher education institutions in the Baltic and Scandinavian countries 

and obtain synergy from the expertise owned by each partner in business education.

Network description: The Nordic network for music education is applying for funding from the 

Nordplus programme in order to continue on the three year expanded plan with three different 

intensive courses - all of them with the same heading: Democracy in Music Education form a 

Nordic perspective - each year with a different host with a different focus and heading . This year 

we want to focus upon Power relations in music education . Through the different activities we 

want to strengthen the Nordic-Baltic dimention in science in music education and contribute to

qualitative development by using the different specialities all the institutions in the network can 

offer. The target group of students - master students in music education - will benefit from a 

programme with a broader perspective and a wider understanding than each institution on their 

own can provide.

Network description: Nettverket "Barnekultur og barnekulturelle utrykk i Norden" er i gang med 

et nytt felles studieprogram knyttet til ”Miljøoppdragelse, språk og estetiske læreprosesser”. 

Nettverket består av Høgskolen i Vestfold, Norge, Frøbelseminaret, Danmark, Åbo Akademi, 

Finland og Luleå Tekniske Universitet i Sverige. 

Tre av de samarbeidende institusjoner, Sverige kom med i 2010, har jobbet sammen i nettverket i 

flere år, og har de siste 3 årene gjennomført et felles nordisk studieprogram på 30 ECTS, og er nå 

i gang med første runde av studiet "Miljøoppdragelse, språk og estetiske lærerprosesser". 

Tilbakemeldingene på tidligere programmer har vært meget positive både fra CIMO, SIU og fra 

Nordisk Ministerråd, og studiet ble kåret til "Best Practice" i 2007. På bakgrunn av suksessen 

ønsket man å utvikle et nytt felles studieprogram, og det er runde 2 det nå søkes støtte til. Også 

for 2011 legger man opp til et studium som går over ett semester og består av 30 ECTS, og det 

skal være med på å styrke det nordiske samarbeidet innenfor pedagogisk arbeid med barn under 

skolealder.Barndom og oppdragelse knyttet til miljøets betydning i de Nordiske land gjennomsyrer 

innholdet i studiet.

education. 

Student and teacher mobility often makes the participating person reflect on not only on others' 

culture, theory and practice, but also on one's own culture, theory and practice. 

Students and teachers are returning home with new ideas, new knowledge and inspiration that can 

help strengthen professional networks and generate new training and development across the 


The students will benefit from the mobility in a sense that it will enrich their total outcome of the 

Bachelor programmes in Education and Social Studies. 

The mobility experiences will be dissiminated to other students and teachers at international day 

arrangements at the institutions and at other similar information sessions during the year. This 

will ensure continued quality and a global view within education.

Network: QA in HE - Qaulity Assurance in Higher Education

Network description: The target of the project proposal “QA in HE – Quality Assurance in Higher 

Education” is to promote the quality assurance strategies and methods in higher education 

institutions by developing innovative models of quality assessment that contribute to the 

comparability of educational quality in HEIs. The main goal of the project is to develop and 

implement a self-evaluation model in the participating higher education institutions to support their 

quality assurance work and continuous curriculum development in the field of engineering science. 

The project aims at defining the self-evaluation process in HEIs and developing new tools for 

supporting the process step model of quality assurance work. Based on these new developed 

methods, the quality of education is monitored and actively improved in HEIs. Furthermore, the 

project aims at developing cross-evaluation methods for international use.

The project target is to construct a framework of quality assurance that promotes the international 

comparability of educational quality. The quality assurance models are established, implemented 

and further developed in the participating degree programmes of the partnering HEIs. The main 

purpose of this international cross-evaluation model is to provide the HEIs with new methods and 

tools of international quality assurance work in close co-operation with other HEIs. The crossevaluation 

between HEIs promotes both the quality assurance work and the quality of education. 

Thus, the project aims at creating a circle of constant quality assurance that fosters active 

development of higher education. In this cyclic model, the quality of education is assessed by 

using self-evaluation and cross-evaluation methods. Based on the evaluation results, the 

curriculum development processes are implemented in order to promote educational quality. The 

curriculum development is implemented based on the CDIO framework, which introduces an 

innovative model of educational development in the engineering field. 

Since the quality assurance in HEIs is closely related to curriculum development, the project 

initiative aims also at establishing new methods of curriculum development through quality 

assessment. As one element of the quality assurance process, the partnering HEIs aim at 

evaluating and further developing the curricula and teaching methods of engineering education, 

which further promotes the educational quality. The cross-evaluation model, which is established 

by the partnering HEIs, promotes both self-assessment and peer evaluation of educational quality 

in the partnering degree programmes. Since the curriculum development is implemented in higher 

education institutions nowadays by using various strategies and standards, the project also aims at 

finding standards and principles for evaluating curriculum development processes in HEIs. 

The project focus is on engineering education, and thus the participating HEIs and degree 

programmes represent engineering field. Although the educational challenges nowadays concern 

higher education in general level, especially engineering education is challenged to develop new 

methods of quality assurance work in order to produce experts that meet the growing demands of 

working life. However, the project results can be further developed and adapted also to other 

educational fields by refining the methods and tools produced during this project. 

In Nordic level, the project also aims at strengthening the co-operation of HEIs in quality 

assurance of education and disseminating the best practices of quality assurance working methods 

and educational solutions between HEIs. The international cross-evaluation model, by definition, 

promotes cooperation and comparability of educational quality in Nordic and international level.

Network description: Valid-Kanklès has an offspring in a specific understanding of the teaching 

of values: 

Post WW2 and certainly after the changes in Europe after 1989 many of the ideas of learning, 

socialization and values can be seen as a reaction upon the misuse of pedagogies performed in the 

name of authoritarian and even dictatorial governments. The first and most important aim of Valid- 

Kanklès will remain to create a meaningful platform for the students’ involvement in the teaching 

of values and thus creating a socio-cultural consciousness on the importance of citizenship - 

especially with focus on klimate issues, as end and means in a democratic educational institution

may it be a nursery, a school or a reformatory institution. 

We will plan the form and content for a course in moral education and democratic values inspired 

from by the UNESCO structure on how one handles permanent social changes. The course will 

build on the development of personal and collective competences that are democratic, 

communicative, intercultural and vigorous. The course is to be taken an integrated part of the 

participants’ studies at their own University colleges/Universities.

Network description: Det overordnede mål for Àlka er at styrke naturfagene i en humanistisk 

orienteret læreruddannelse. 

Det sker via udvikling af undervisning og af læreplaner, der tilgodeser en autentisk naturfagsundervisning 

med vægt på natur- og kulturarv, naturens kredsløb og de menneskeskabte 

ændringer, bæredygtighed og naturforvaltning og med fokus på livskvalitet og handlekompetence. 

Dette udviklingsarbejde sker i et netværks-samarbejde mellem naturfagslærere fra alle de 

nordiske lande, og hvor netværkets partnere repræsenterer forskellige naturfaglige og 

fagdidaktiske kompetencer. Disse forskellige kompetencer kommer hele netværket til gode via 

oplæg på de intensive kurser, oplæg på partnerinstitutioner i forbindelse med mobilitet og i kraft af 

fælles udviklingsarbejde. Netop samarbejdet i nordisk regi byder på helt særlige muligheder, bl.a. 

omkring et fælles syn på demokrati og velfærd, regionens fælles miljøproblemer og 

løsningsmodeller samt en bevidst sprogpolitik (de nordiske sprog i forhold til engelsk). Men 

forskellene i Norden byder desuden på muligheder for helt konkret at se forskellige 

problemstillinger i forbindelse med miljøproblemer, konsekvenser af klimaændringer og 

menneskets forvaltning af naturgrundlaget. 

Nordplus netværket Àlka giver dermed naturfagsundervisere og studerende i de nordiske lande 

mulighed for at udvikle undervisning i centrale klima- og miljøproblemer set ud fra et både lokalt, 

regionalt og globalt perspektiv, men med sigte på elevernes livsduelighed nu og i fremtiden.

Network description: The project focuses on climate issues and sustainable energy. It offers a 

possibility for testing of new innovative energy sources in real life together with the real users from

reference to development of curricula and joint or double degrees. 

Another purpose of the project is to renew contact with Denmark and Sweden and to enlarge the

programme, successful students will be awarded two officially recognized M.Sc. degrees (double

develops the students' research skills to enable them to take up further studies at PhD level; it

Network description: The purpose of Nordlys is to give those students who do not have a 

Nordplus network in their own field of studies a possibility to go on exchange to another Nordic 

country. There is a gap in certain disciplines where students who do not have Nordplus grants 

available in their own field. Also, although there are some existing Erasmus agreements with 

certain Nordic Universities, they are restricted and cannot necessarily offer placements to all 

disciplines. Greatest demand currently is in geography and other geosciences, which is part of 

environmental sciences. The purpose is to encourage these students to gain and share information 

about how sustainable development is taught in other Nordic countries and to be able to tackle the 

challenges that societies with similar environmental have. Another student group that currently 

apply Nordlys grants to Nordic Universities are Humanities students and Dentistry students, 

because their own Nordplus networks have stopped getting funding.

Network description: The main purpose of the Geonord-network and its co-operation is two-fold: 

a) to develop and intensify the links between geographers and universities in the Baltic and Nordic 

countries, b) to create new skills in research and problem-solving of regional development in the 

context of Northern peripheries. The main activies of the network contains jointly planned 

intensive courses and student/teacher exchange mobility. The thematic issue of the course varies 

year by year, but the basic content always offers new and comparative viewpoints to local and 

regional development matters in Northern Europe with special emphasis on peripheral areas. In 

this year 2010 the course will focus on on regional disparities and spatial policies concerning binary 

thinking as a major obstacle and various settings of dialogues as oppotunity for development. The 

field research will be conducted in the Baltic borderlands but comparative analysis will be made 

with some Nordic counterparts. A special attention will be targeted to local development events 

and initiatives, but they will be analyzed both in the general context of supra-local factors and in 

the theoretical context of path-dependency, learning region and post-colonialism. The empirical 

cases will cover the whole variation of activities from resource-based economies (agriculture, 

mining, forestry, energy industry) to features of experienced economy.

Network description: Nätverket har som syfte att befrämja de nordiska kontakterna, både på 

student- och lärarnivå, inom ämnesområdet folkloristik och etnologi. I Sverige förekommer inte 

ämnet folkloristik som självständigt ämne. Av denna orsak är det viktigt att både lärare och 

studenter kan ta del av den folkloristiska kännedom som finns i Norge, Finland och Island.Det 

nordiska samarbetet är i dagens läge ytterst viktigt eftersom ämnet folkloristik gått miste om det 

nordiska samarbetsorganet Nordiskt nätverk för folkloristik (NNF) och dess föregångare Nordiskt 

institut för folkdiktning (NIF) båda finansierade av Nordiska ministerrådet. 

Målet för verksamheten inom nätverket är att ge studenterna tillgång till kvalitativt högt stående 

undervisning i de nordiska länderna och insikt i ämnesområden som det egna universitetet inte 

kan bidra med. Gällande lärarutbytet skulle detta nätverk befrämja redan etablerade 

forskarkontakter och ge upphov till nya kontakter. Också på ett högskolepedagogiskt plan skulle 

detta nätverk kunna bidra med nya insikter för lärarna.

Network: Hissa-nätverket

Network description: Hissa-nätverket har haft en livlig verksamhet under de senaste åren, både 

student- och lärarutbyten har skett i alla riktningar och en jämvikt har uppnåtts på bästa tänkbara 

sätt. Nätverksmöten har hållits fyra gånger tack vare finansiering via nätverksmedel under 

nätverkets långa existens. På senare tid har nätverket hållit möten utan Nordplus-finansiering, dels 

vid Háskoli Islands i augusti 2007 i samband med det Nordiska Historikermötet och dels i 

Köpenhamn i februari 2009 då det var nödvändigt att träffas för att bl.a. utvärdera intensivkursen i 

Köpenhamn samt planera den kurs som skall hållas våren 2010 i Åbo. Möten är av allra högsta vikt

för att nätverksmedlemmarna skall kunna dela med sej av erfarenheter beträffande kurserna samt 

andra nyheter/reformer/projekt inom historieundervisningen vid de nordiska universiteten. 

Våren 2004 hölls nätverkets första intensivkurs, förlagd till Uppsala. Den andra intensivkursen 

hölls i maj 2006 i Tromsö och den tredje i maj 2008 i Köpenhamn. Kurserna har visat sig bli stor 

succé för alla medverkande. Väldigt positiv feed-back har getts av de medverkande studenterna. 

Nästa kurs skall hållas i maj 2010 vid Åbo Akademi. Tyvärr nekades nätverket finansiering till 

kursen i Åbo. Huvudarrangören, historieämnet vid Åbo Akademi har sökt finansiering på annat håll. 

Kursen är därmed inte i egentlig mening en Nordplus intensivkurs, men eftersom samtliga 

nätverksparter deltar i kursen får Nordplus programmet ändå synlighet i marknadsföringen av 

kursen. 

Kurserna ger en ypperlig chans till specialkunnande, förmedlat av lärare specialiserade i de ämnen 

som behandlas på kurserna. Dessutom anses kurserna vara ett viktigt komplement för de 

studerande som inte anser sig vara mogna för en hel termins vistelse vid ett annat 

samarbetsuniversitet. Dessutom maximerar intensivkurserna sammanhållningen studenter och 

lärare emellan. 

Målsättningen med nätverkssamarbetet är att möjliggöra studier och kurser i specialområden som 

inte är företrädda vid det egna universitetet genom att studenterna får åka på utbyte. Med tanke 

på det stora utbudet av specialområden får nätverket en bredare karaktär. 

Nätverket är företrätt med två universitet i vartdera landet, med undantag av Island. Nätverket 

står på en stabil grund och målsättningen är att ett jämnt student- och lärarutbyte skall bibehållas. 

Ömsesidigheten är mycket god och fortsätter på så vis enligt tradition och framtidsprognoser. 

Nätverket har väl använt medlen från de senaste årens beviljningar. För att kunna fortsätta 

verksamheten på samma grunder som tidigare, behöver nätverket i fortsättningen 

mobilitetsstipendier samt finansiering för fortsatta intensivkurser. År 2012 planeras nästa 

intensivkurs gå av stapeln. Det är av två skäl viktigt att vi kan erbjuda en kurs med jämna 

mellanrum. Det skapar en förutsägbarhet och därmed medvetenhet om att en sådan kurs kommer 

att erbjudas vid de olika lärosätena, vilket bidrar till att öka antalet deltagare. Kortkurserna bidrar 

därtill på ett väsentligt sätt till att höja motivationen till fortsatt samarbete bland medlemmarna i 

nätverket. 

Pga. den uteblivna Nordplus finansieringen av intensivkursen i Åbo 2010 kan inte heller något 

nätverksmöte hållas. Istället söker nätverket nu om finansiering för ett nätverksmöte för hösten 

2010.

Network description: Nordlys is a multidisciplinary open network that was established already in

improve the cooperation between the Nordic universities. Later the network has extended to 

include teacher mobility and administrative visits. Nordlys-mobility is addressed to students who 

don't have the possibility to apply for Nordplus-grant from the existing subject specific Nordplusnetworks, 

and to students who would like to study other subject area at the hosting university 

than they study at their home university.

komponerende musiker” og retter seg først og fremst mot unge musikere som studerer innen

Dagens unge improvisasjonsmusikere er ofte i like høy grad komponister som instrumentalister. 

Med den felles dyptgående kompetanse som finnes blant lærere på våre tre skoler vil vi, på høyt 

nivå, videreutvikle undervisningsformer og arbeidsmetoder, stimulere studentene og tilføre våre 

utdanningsprogram et nytt viktig fokus. 

Vi vil gjennom intensivprosjektet utvikle og inspirere til nye veier å arbeide med komposisjon som 

uttrykksmiddel i et personlig kunstnerisk virke for utøvere innen vårt felt. 

Prosjektet inngår i en del av den samarbeidsavtale som de tre institusjonene har inngått. Denne 

sikter på økt samarbeide innenfor følgende områder: 

– Komposisjonsstudier innen jazz/improvisasjon/rytmisk musikk 

– Musikkpedagogiske studier 

– Forskning og utviklingsarbeide (FOU) 

– Mobilitet 

Samarbeidet skal på sikt realiseres i form av felles intensivkurser, joint study

Network description: This project is a Joint Master’s Degree Programme called "(PPhil) Practical 

Philosophy – Theories of Good Society", which is conducted jointly by the universities participating 

in the Baltic Philosophy Network (BalPhiN). 

The broad theme of the Programme, Practical Philosophy, is mainly concerned with ethics, the 

study of general moral standards and basic human values, but also applied ethics, particularly 

business ethics, biomedical ethics, environmental ethics, and professional ethics. Connected with 

these fields are social and political philosophy as well as philosophy of law, which address such 

questions as the proper ethical standards for institutions - private as well as governmental - and 

the foundations and constitutive principles of democracy. The more concrete theme of PPhil, does 

obviously not attempt to cover all the above fields; instead it concentrates on theories of morality, 

justice and society, and these thematic focal points of the Programme have been constructed from 

the areas of expertise of the participating universities. 

The organizing body, Baltic Philosophy Network (BalPhiN), consists of three Nordic (Social and 

Moral Philosophy / Department of Political and Economic Studies of University of Helsinki (as the 

coordinator), Department of Philosophy of University of Iceland, and Philosophy Unit of Södertörn 

University College) and five Baltic philosophical institutes (Estonian Institute of Humanities of 

Tallinn University, Centre for Ethics of University of Tartu, Faculty of Political Science and 

Diplomacy of Vytautas Magnus University, European Humanities University, Department of 

Practical Philosophy of University of Latvia). BalPhiN was founded in 2007 in order to establish the 

cooperation that had started already in the early 1990’s. The network aims at the enhancement of 

student and teacher exchange and joint philosophical instruction and research between the Nordic 

and Baltic institutes of philosophy. One of the purposes of the network is to make this Joint 

Master’s Degree Programme one of the durable, recurring practices of instruction of Practical 

Philosophy in these countries. 

This project satisfies the general objectives of Nordplus Higher Education 2010, especially in 

contributing to cooperation between higher education institutions in the participating countries and 

to the establishment of networks for exchange and dissemination of experiences, best practices 

and innovative results. In particular it satisfies the priority of the development of Joint Study 

Programmes, Curriculum Development projects and Quality Assurance work in higher education. 

The educational structures and arrangements of this project are developed and designed to meet 

the various needs and requirements of the participating universities, coming from countries with a 

great variety of educational and academic structures and practices.

Network: The Religious Roots of Europe

Network description: The purpose of the project is to educate masters in a common Nordic 

masters programme with the title 'The Religious Roots of Europe'. Six Nordic universities in 

cooperation offer the programme. The Nordic Council of Ministers has financed the development of 

this programme. The first batch of 24 students was matriculated in September 2009. In 

September 2010 an estimated 36 further students are admitted in a second batch. This application 

should make it possible for these students to travel between the six Nordic universities for compact 

seminars. 

The programme is based on a high degree of student and teachers’ mobility. With this mobility the 

programme will further cooperation between institutions of higher education and research in the 

Nordic countries and it will bring students from these countries together. We have already 

experienced this during the development phase and during the education of the first batch of 

students. Last year we applied to NordPlus for support the travelling of students within this 

programme. And NordPlus partly supported student-mobility for our students with a grant of 

12.000 Euro, which could partly cover student travelling between the Nordic countries in the first 

year September 2009 to October 2010 (Project ID: HE-2009_1-18208). This support was very 

welcome since students would otherwise have hat to cover all their travelling costs in the Nordic 

countries themselves. Under such circumstances it might be feared that some of them would have 

chosen, due to financial reasons, not to take part in the full mobility scheme. With the support 

from NordPlus on the other hand our experiences so far would indicate that the vast majority of 

students will take part in the compact seminars in the Nordic countries (so far only two students 

have missed out on one of these travels each).

Nordic and Baltic Mobility and Network Scheme in Archaeology

Network description: Archaeology has seen a dramatic decrease of students at most universities 

in the Nordic and Baltic countries which needs to be changed. The revival of this Nordplus network 

is seen as a tool by all partners in the network for the development of the subject. The network is 

a continuation of the only existing, all Nordic archaeology network, which started in the 90´s and 

now includes all partner institutions with archaeology in the Baltic States. The network which also 

includes osteology has during the last ten years solely been engaged in student mobility schemes. 

Placement possibilities have so far not been a part of the student mobility scheme but will 

continued to be included in this application, considering the need for archaeology students to 

enhance their employability by being offered a possibility to work in a private or public 

institution/enterprise in the field. This would enable new inputs from the sector into curriculum

development of benefit for the sector and the entrepreneurial skills of students. Therefore such 

partners will be invited to the first network meeting. Teacher mobility should therefore also permit 

the inclusion of teachers from the public/private sphere although no such partners have yet been 

included in this application. Meanwhile such contacts exist and will be used. The reason for the 

increased amount of mobility applied for to Sweden is that past experience from mobility flows 

showed student mobility flows mainly to Sweden. The reason for this might be that such subjects 

as Osteology does not exist at the same advanced level as in Sweden, and that some programs at 

Swedish universities offer archaeology courses in English. Gotland University is one of the few 

HEI:s (Higher Educational Institutions) in the network offering a semester in English at its 

International Archaeology program launched in the academic year 2007/2008. This will obviously 

change as the network and planning meeting engaging all participating institutions will start in 

2009/2010.

Network: NORDPLUS Network in Philosophy

Network description: This is a network principally devoted to student and staff mobility in the 

field of philosophy. Priority is given to longer-term exchanges: semester-length study abroad for 

students and teaching exchanges of two to four weeks. Such exchanges help to make effective use 

of academic resources, to provide students and staff with a broadened perspective and valuable 

life experience, and conduce to Nordic (and Nordic-Baltic) cooperation and integration. The 

Network was reconstituted last year to include seventeen Nordic partners and five Baltic partners. 

The Network has stimulated, and will continue to stimulate, Nordic-Baltic exchanges as a particular 

priority. Heretofore, the Network has primarily supported student exchanges at the BA level, but 

we aim now also to support exchanges at the MA level, for which there is growing demand among 

students. Some partners are developing joint study programs within the framework of the

Network.

Network description: Our rationale is to develop deeper understanding of the current priorities 

of climate change in the Baltic and Nordic countries from the Humanities perspective. Climate 

change can surve as an "entry point" into understanding more fully the fragility of our life within 

the created environment. We underline that the seriousness of climate change must be considered 

in wider context which goes beyond demanding only minor changes in the life of society but call 

into the question of basic attitudes and values. Therefore the concept of sustainable development 

is radical concept which includes also theological discourse and art historical and stylistic 

observations. Our objectives are: 1) to establish and extend network between educational

intitutions in Baltic and Nordic countries providing higher education in Humanities and Arts and 

deeling with ecological issues; 2) by joint forces to promote and develop environmental 

resposibility through higher education and lifelong learning studies; 3) to promote contact and long 

term co-operation in higher education; 4) intensify knowledge about global and regional ecological 

and climate issues and rise the ecological awareness in partner countries; 5) network ECTA intends 

to participate in the network and project activities (intensive courses, masterclasses, workshops, 

ehxibitions, symposiums etc), joint curriculm development as well as student and teacher mobility; 

The planned activities for study year 2010/2011 are: intensive course, artistic workshop / 

materclass, international art exhibition and theoretical reserch proceedings that will surve finally as

Network description: Nettverk for studier i katolsk teologi har som intensjon å samordne små 

miljøer i Norden som der formålet er å utvide interessefeltet og stofftilfanget til å omfatte studier 

og undervisningstilbud i fagområder som normalt ikke prioriteres ved de fleste teologiske 

utdanningsinstitusjoner i Norden. Nettverket vil søke å samordne studietilbud innenfor katolsk 

teologi, og gi felles kurs for studenter fra flere av de nordiske land. 

I Norden drives de fleste teologiske studier innenfor en luthersk tradisjon. Det betyr ikke 

nødvendigvis at studiene er konfesjonstilknyttet, men stofftilfang og interessefelt styres av den 

konteksten kirkene i de nordiske land står i – hvilket er lutherske kirker. 

I verdenssammenheng er studier innenfor katolsk teologi det mest vanlige ved universiteter. 

Imidlertid er det en rekke eksempler på samarbeid over konfesjonsgrenser. Deltagerne i dette

Network description: The Baltic-Nordic Network on Education in Survey Statistics is the 

education-focused Baltic-Nordic branch of the more extensive Baltic-Nordic-Ukrainian-Belarusian 

Network on Education and Research in Survey Statistics. The main purpose of the Baltic-Nordic 

Network on Education in Survey Statistics is to strengthen co-operation between universities, 

government agencies and statistical associations in the Baltic and Nordic countries in education on 

survey statistics and related statistical applications. For this purpose, the Network organizes each 

year in one of the participating countries a conference, workshop or a summer school on survey 

statistics. This far, we have organized 11 workshops or summer schools in one of the Baltic 

countries and two conferences (2002 in Sweden and 2007 in Finland), with participation of over 

500 students, teachers and practicing statisticians. This year workshop will be organized in Vilnius 

in August 2010 and it is supported financially by a 2009-2010 Nordplus HE grant. In addition, the 

Network promotes student and teacher mobility between universities and other institutions of the 

participating countries. More than 100 month-long exchange visits have been made by university 

teachers, research students and government statisticians in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to 

partner universities in Sweden and Finland. The previous activities of the Network are summarized

Network description: The purpose of the network BIOnord is to promote, and provide a forum 

for, collaboration in the education in biomedical science in the Nordic Countries and international 

activities of students and teachers. Thus BIOnord is a useful tool in the quality management of the 

education in the Nordic Countries. 

BIOnord was established in 1993 and includes partners from all the Nordic countries and thus 

influences the education in biomedical science in all the countries. The network is an important 

source of inspiration for the partners’ institutions in the development in the dynamic education in 

biomedical science where the constant is a change caused by new knowledge. As education on MS 

level becomes more common in the Nordic countries the collaboration within BIOnord has been 

extended to cover collaboration on that level as well the BS level. The annual BIOnord meeting is 

its central point for the development, collaboration and administration of the network. Nordplus 

and BIOnord priorities are discussed, including economic aspect, mobility and specific projects, and 

the network’s mission and strategy set for the future. 

Student mobility is intended to bring international dimension to their education and increase the 

students’ qualifications for the international employment marked. It leads to wider experience and

knowledge of diverse solutions in the work within the biomedical science laboratories and the 

health systems as such. The network issues its own documents for recognition of courses the 

student is enrolled in at the visiting school and uses ECTS in reporting results. 

Teacher mobility within BIOnord is intended to share experience and knowledge in pedagogic 

aspects as well as in the relevant discipline of biomedical science. This is done by tutoring and 

collaboration in the development of teaching material and examination methods. 

Development of teaching material, both within the exchange system and as specific projects of the 

network, is of high importance regarding quality development of the education in biomedical 

science in the Nordic countries. Haematology teachers within BIOnord have developed a portal on 

its homepage to use for teachers and students in the discipline, and the experience of it is good. 

Quality management of jointly developed or shared teaching material resulted in establishment of 

a framework including quality criteria for such activities at the last annual meeting. The first steps 

were also taken at that event in development of teaching material in microbiology. The aim is to 

add other disciplines in the future and continue development of the ones already in use.

Network description: All activities within this project, Talk together (TT), intend to strengthen 

the academic field of Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) in all participating countries by 

supporting new programmes and institutions lacking competence in specific areas to promote 

development, harmonisation and exchange within the SLP-educations in the participating 

countries. 

The SLP-programs varies regarding primary focus of the programmes, length of the educations 

as well as possibilities of a master and research studies. Also the level of development of the 

education varies greatly including both completely new programmes as well as old and well 

established ones. The proposed project is a continuation of the project Move and talk (MAT) and an 

extension of the NordSpeech network. The network, in the present application, includes 22 

partners in 7 Nordic and Baltic countries. 

The project will focus on knowledge exchange through the following areas of activities: 

• Enlargement of the network, 3 new partners in this application and Iceland as a new 

country 

• Common courses development including curriculum harmonisation 

• Initiation of course development of a joint study programme – a master in Augmentative 

and Alternative Communication (AAC) 

• Student and teacher exchange, both express mobility and longer stays 

• Network meetings 

• Development of quality assurance of the programmes

Network description: Målsättningen med nätverket är att lärare och studenter vid 

barnmorskeprogrammen i de fyra nordiska länderna ska knyta kontakter, utbyta erfarenheter och 

utveckla kunskapsnivån när det gäller barnmorskans profession i Norden. 

Barnmorskeutbildningarna ser olika ut i de nordiska länderna men det finns också likheter de har 

samma målsättning, grundsyn och gemensamma huvudämnen oavsett vilket land det handlar om. 

Sedan nätverkets bildande har ett nära samarbete mellan de fyra utbildningsorterna utvecklats. 

Detta kan ses genom det student och lärarutbyte som ständigt pågår. Vid Nordpluskonferenser och 

nätverksmöten har lärare inom nätverket kunnat dra upp riktlinjer för nätverkets fortsatta 

samarbete. Ett konkret exempel på ett sådant samarbete är den ansökan om medel för en 

intensivkurs som skrevs 2006. Nätverket beviljades medel för intensivkursen ” Förebyggande av 

perinealskador vid förlossning i Norden”. Kursen genomfördes i Aalborg 2007 och utvärderades 

med ett gott resultat. Förutom studenter kunde lärare från institutioner och klinik delta vilket gav 

ytterligare tyngd åt kursen. Medel har också beviljats nätverket för en liknande intensivkurs 2010. 

Den ska genomföras i Tromsö och planering av denna kurs pågår.

udkantsområder (her: Færøerne). 

2. At styrke rekrutteringen af fremtidige jordemødre til Færøerne. Det er en kendt sag, at 

Grønland i flere år har haft svært ved at tiltrække uddannede jordemødre. I håbet om at forebygge 

en lignende udvikling på Færøerne er det vort håb, at studenterudveksling vil motivere til at søge 

ansættelse på Færøerne som færdiguddannet jordemoder. Dette er allerede sket i mindst tre 

tilfælde indenfor de seneste år. (FREE mover mobilitet) 

Målsætningen er således: 

- At gøre FRIGG partnerskabet kendt blandt studerende og undervisere i Aalborg og Esbjerg 

samt blandt ansatte jordemødre på Færøerne.

Network description: Målsättningen med nätverket är att lärare och studenter vid de 

sjuksköterskeprogram som ingår i nätverket ska knyta kontakter, utbyta erfarenheter och utveckla 

kunskapsnivån när det gäller sjuksköterskans profession i Norden. Sjuksköterskeutbildningen ser 

olika ut i de nordiska länderna men det finns också likheter de har samma grundsyn och 

gemensamma huvudämnen oavsett vilket land det handlar om. Sedan nätverkets bildande har ett 

nära samarbete mellan de fem utbildningsorterna utvecklats speciellt gäller detta student-och 

lärarmobilitet. Vid nätverksmöten och lärarutbyten har man inom nätverket kunnat dra upp 

riktlinjer för nätverkets fortsatta utveckling och samarbete. Ett konkret exempel på ett sådant 

samarbete är de intensivkurser som genomförts under åren. Kurserna har avhandlat ämnen som 

tystnadsplikt i de nordiska länderna, dokumentation av omvårdnad och kulturella perspektiv på 

omvårdnad.

gör det enkelt att samarbeta om att utbyta studenter. Trots denna gemenskap skiljer det 

något mellan olika utbildnings- och sjukvårdssytem. Detta är en viktig erfarenhet för 

studenter, lärare och koordinatorer. En internationell erfarenhet under utbildningen ger fler 

dimensioner till det kommande arbetet som läkare, vilket höjer kompetensen hos 

dessa studenter. 

Nätverket vill främja och utveckla detta genom att koordinera studentutbyten, både på 

befintliga programkurser, prekliniskt och kliniskt, liksom genomförande av kliniska placeringar 

på sjukhus. Det nordiska samarbetet syftar till att stärka Norden och östersjöregionen som 

enhet i den alltmer ökande globaliseringen av utbildning och forskning, vilket även detta 

nätverk ställer sig bakom. Att bygga nätverk inom Norden är mycket viktigt för kommande 

yrkesaktiva läkare då de sannolikt kommer att forska/arbeta i en nordisk kontext.

and since then also programmes in Pharmacy in Oslo and Karlstad are included. In 2008 Tartu 

Health Care College was invited and is now one of our partner institutions. The purpose with our 

network is to connect institutions in higher education and favour cooperation between institutions 

with similar education programmes for Biomedical laboratory professionals and Pharmacists. Our 

cooperation favour curriculum development and Quality assurance work within Nordic and Baltic 

Higher education. This includes the assessment of curriculum, discussions and proposals according 

to the core competencies of Biomedical Laboratory Scientist and Pharmacists and the contents of 

courses in syllabus. We also have an intention to make it possible for the students to perform their 

degree projects at one of the partner institutions and this will also give insight into our partners 

research fields and gives the students more possibilities in choosing subjects for their degree 

projects.

Network description: The main idea is that the teachers and students from different countries 

can meet, share and develop their ideas and innovations about common topics in nursing and 

health care under a headline of violence in health care. In health care personal is facing many 

different forms of violence. Students have to have skills on social and health care field in 

prevention, recognition and broaching of the problems as well as improvement of their skills to 

make early interventions, finding solutions and working in multiprofessional teams. 

The network will further develop the research within nursing and nursing education. Both the 

teachers and the students learn improve their knowledge about different cultures, practical 

traditions, ways of actions and appliances in professional context. The teachers are able to develop 

the content of the Violence in health care course further and integrate it or parts of it into the 

curricula of their home institutions. In addition they learn the use of new teaching methods in 

multicultural and multilinquistic context and are able to develop their pedagogical skills through 

the experiences during the intensive course. 

The purpose is also to enhance the well known Nordic high quality of nursing education and to 

harmonize nursing education in Nordic and Baltic countries according to the aims of the Bologna 

process.

Network description: Nordlys-nätverkets grundidé är ge möjligheter åt studerande att åka på 

nordiskt studentutbyte även om det egna ämnet inte ingår i något nätverkssamarbete. Nätverket

ger också möjligheter åt studerande som önskar avlägga tvärvetenskapliga studier vid ett annat 

nordiskt lärosäte. Nätverket välkomnades och accepterades helt fullt ut av både personal och 

studenter från dess start. Detta betydde också att problem med tillgodoräkning av studier avlagda 

vid ett annat nordiskt universitet direkt från början kunde undvikas. Åbo Akademi har haft 

studerande som vid ett annat nordiskt lärosäte dessutom har läst ämnen som inte finns företrädda 

vid Åbo Akademi. Sålunda har ÅA-studerande läst ämnen såsom antropologi, persiska, islamologi, 

filmvetenskap och journalistik för att nämna några. Dessa ämnen har införts som biämnen i 

studenternas examen vid Åbo Akademi, förutsatt att studenten har fått ihop så många studiepoäng 

som krävs för ett första eller andra biämne. 

Syftet med Nordlysnätverket är att 

- stärka den nordiska utbildningsgemenskapen 

- stärka den nordiska dimensionen i undervisningen 

- öka kännedom om andra nordiska universitet 

- dra nytta av varandras erfarenheter 

- ge studenter i Norden ett nordiskt perspektiv i sin utbildning antingen som Nordplusstudenter

Network description: Nordlys är ett ämnesövergripande öppet nätverk med 36 medverkande 

nordiska universitet. Nätverket etablerades 1995. Kontaktpersonen för nätverket arbetar vid 

universitetets centralförvaltning. Varje partneruniversitet lämnar in ansökan om mobilitetsmedel. 

Nätverket syftar till att främja student- och lärarmobilitet inom Norden. Nordlys vänder sig till 

studenter och lärare som inte har möjlighet att söka Nordplusstipendier inom etablerade 

ämnesnätverk och till studenter som vill läsa ett annat ämne än det de studerar vid 

hemmauniversitetet. Student- och lärarmobiliteten syftar till att 

• Stärka den nordiska utbildningsgemenskapen 

• Stärka den nordiska dimensionen i undervisningen 

• Öka kännedom om andra nordiska universitet 

• Bidra till samarbete mellan institutioner i högre utbildning i norden

Lunds universitet har varit medlem i nätverket sedan lång tid. Med denna ansökan vill vi fortsätta 

och utveckla samarbetet med att implementera nätverkets övergripande mål och stärka det 

nordiska samarbetet genom ökad mobilitet för både lärare och studenter. Under 2008 och 2009 

arbetade vi målmedvetet för att öka intresset för utbyte inom Norden. Vi har också gjort en riktad 

satsning om möjligheter till praktik i de nordiska länderna. Vi avser fortsätta detta arbete under 

2010, bl a med extra satsning på marknadsföring och informationsspridning, nya hemsidor etc.

Network: ABS-Atmosphere-Biosphere Studies

Network description: ABS (Atmosphere-Biosphere Studies) is a Nordic Master's Degree 

Programme in Atmospheric Sciences and Biogeochemical cycles. The aim of the programme is to 

educate environmental specialists, who are capable for independent and innovative work in the 

current and future challenges related to global climate change and environmental pollution. 

The programme is very multidisciplinary, involving a versatile education on atmospheric sciences 

covering physical phenomena, atmospheric chemistry, meteorology, and ecosystem studies. Part 

of the content of the programme is related to the interactions between the ecosystems and the 

atmosphere. All the education of the programme is given in English. The approximate study period 

is two years and includes 120 ECTS of studies. 

The ABS network consists of ten universities in four Nordic and Baltic countries, which are among 

the top-rated research units in the world. The programme has many effects in the society, 

including the deepening of the Nordic-Baltic cooperation in environmental education, the idea of 

lifelong learning, enhancing student and teacher mobility, and adaptation to the requirements of

the Bologna process. 

The ABS programme is directly linked to two proposed Nordic Centres of Excellence: Impacts of a 

changing cryosphere - depicting ecosystem-climate feedbacks as affected by changes in 

permafrost, snow and ice distribution (DEFROST) coordinated by Lund University, and Cryosphereatmosphere 

interactions in a changing arctic climate (CRAICC), coordinated by the University of 

Helsinki. As proposed to NordForsk, new study modules will be included in the ABS programme to 

cover studies related to the Arctic environment.

Network description: The Consortium deals with Transition Studies, understood as the study of 

fundamental economic, political, and social changes. In a regionally specific aspect, the study of 

transition deals also with the European Union development cooperation, as one of the significant 

influences of transition amongst the post-Communist countries of Eastern Europe. 

Transition is not a sui generis problem related exclusively to post-Communist countries. Rather, 

the lessons learned from the post-Communist experiences might be extended to non-Communist 

countries having experienced fundamental institutional breakdowns. The study of transition related 

topics has thus both scholarly interest and political relevance. 

The purpose of the Consortium is to provide and ensure a standing forum for the improvement of 

teaching and learning within the interdisciplinary field of Transition Studies. The activities of the 

Consortium include (1) development of common curricula and teaching methodologies, (2) teacher 

and student express mobility visits facilitating the establishment of enduring cross-cutting contacts 

among the participating institutions, their faculty, and students, and (3) dissemination of the result 

both among partners and to a broader audience, including political decision makers.

Network description: Nätverkets huvudsyfte är att främja mobilitet mellan de nordiska 

universiteten för att öka kunskapen och förståelsen av de nordiska språken, kulturen och

Nordlys vänder sig framförallt till studenter och lärare som inte har möjlighet att söka Nordplusstipendier 

inom etablerade ämnesnätverk. Nätverket ge även studenter möjligheter att studera 

inom ett annat ämnesområde än man gör hemma, vilket skapar tvärvetenskapliga 

studiemöjligheter. 

Nätverket bildades 1995 och har under dessa 15 år hunnit samla på sig massor med erfarenhet 

inom nordisk högre utbildning, vilket gör att kvalitetssäkring är ytterligare ett ledord för nätverket.

Network description: Nordplusnätverket - Pedagogik för hållbar utveckling har grundats av Luleå 

Tekniska Universitetet i Sverige, Univeristy College Lillebælt i Danmark, HUMAK University of 

Applied Sciences och Yrkeshögskolan Novia i Finland. Vårt övergipande syfte är att arbeta för en 

hållbar utveckling med hjälp av upplevelsepedagogik. 

Vi strävar efter att uppnå vårt syfte genom att arbeta mot tre olika mål. Den första målsättningen 

är att utveckla undervisningen i upplevelse- och äventyrspedagogik i partnerhögskolorna. Den 

andra målsättningen är att arbeta för ett aktivt lärar- och studentutbyte mellan de involverade 

högskolorna. Den tredje målsättningen är kunskapsutväxling mellan högskolorna och olika 

medborgarorganisationer.

Network description: The purpose is to increase the knowledge on social work across the Nordic 

countries through e.g. practical studies at partner institutions and guest lecturers from our Nordic 

partner institutions. Two successful intensive courses (Cultural Pedagogics and the Good Life in 

2004 and Empowerment in 2006) have resulted in closer cooperation and better inter-Nordic 

understanding. The network did not succeed with the last IP application but we hope to receive 

funding to plan an IP in the academic year of 2011-2012. Regular contact with the partner 

institutions generates confidence which is important also in the Norpaed cooperation. In order to 

involve all parties in the network and its activities, each institution in turn takes responsibility for 

the coordinatorship. The network was enlarged in 2005, including also the Faroe Islands, a positive 

partner with new perspectives. The cooperation works very well and the partners meet several

times during the year through teacher exchanges and this year also the network meeting. Over the 

past years the financial support from Nordplus has been considerably reduced at the same time as 

the activity has increased. Thanks to last year's generous mobility funding from Nordplus the 

activity has increased considerably this year.

Network description: På grund af støtten fra NORDPLUS har partnerne gennem alle årene været 

i stand til at udveksle studerende og lærere, samt afholde intensivkurser med temaer som 

"Komparativ Socialpolitik", "Socialt arbejde i frivilligsektoren" og "Socialpolitik og 

samfundsarbejde". Udover det åbenlyse udbytte i form af nyt undervisningsmateriale og nye 

undervisningsmoduler er det typisk at partnerne henter inspiration og bistand hos hinanden i 

forhold til andre områder. Eksempelvis 

gjorde uddannelsen i Lund sine første På grund af støtten fra NORDPLUS har partnerne gennem 

alle årene været i stand til at udveksle studerende og lærere, samt afholde intensivkurser med 

temaer som "Komparativ Socialpolitik", "Socialt arbejde i frivilligsektoren" og "Socialpolitik og 

samfundsarbejde". Udover det åbenlyse udbytte i form af nyt undervisningsmateriale og nye

uddannelsen i Aarhus. Lund har f. eks. hjulpet alle partnere med modeller for undervisning 

fremtidsværkstedsmodellen.

Network description: Objective for co-operation with in the theme “Everyday Practices in 

Changing Societies” is to provide high quality advanced level courses for the Nordic and Baltic 

students. The longer term aim of the project is to run an international joint master programme 

where master’s thesis are supervised and done in international study groups. The Joint Master 

programme will start in August 2011. 

None of the collaborating universities would be able to produce this kind of teaching on their own. 

The shared expertise is not only economical but highly beneficial regarding the development of 

study programmes and research in each partner University. At the master level the number of 

students is rather small so it is almost obligatory to co-operate in order to produce high quality

courses. Participating students will benefit greatly as they are able to expanding their networks 

within the Nordic-Baltic countries and learn scientifically to explore the everyday life with its 

complexities. They can apply their knowledge and expertise in their future professions in the fields 

such as education, research, social work and food service management. Number of new partners 

at this application round shows how attractive the co-operation has been.

Network description: The Network has been ongoing for more than a decade. Last year the 

network received money to be able to reconstruct the network. During this year we have been 

working with the reconstruction. This has included a renewal and enlargement of network inclusion 

of new partners Iceland and Lithuania. We have also being able to have network meetings, student 

and teacher mobility. The possibility to have network meetings has been very valuable in order to 

develop this Network. We have also discussed earlier experiences concerning courses and mobility 

in the network. 

Taking these experiences into consideration as well as experiences from students and teachers, 

the aim for this new application is to develop different forms of express mobility for students and 

short field visits and courses on bachelors' and masters level for students. Further to create a week 

of expertise training for teachers. The purpose with this project is to have; 

* Internships with needed academic tuition, min 3 months 

* Short internships (2 weeks) with the goal to make field visits, gather empirical material for 

degree reports and to join short courses. 

* Expertise trainings for teachers in order to gain knowledge and best practises from the 

neighbouring countries as well as a way of finding guest lectures in certain topics for the partners 

as well as potential research cooperation 

* Development of the network 

* To include the other Baltic countries as well as social work in Nuuk, Greenland. 

To be able to fulfil all these activities we will need to arrange three times a meeting face to face 

(Iceland and Gothenburg) as well as at least twice big scale video conferences with the whole 

network

Network description: The purpose of the project is to advance global journalism and global 

journalism education as a practice, as well as the understanding of global journalism within the 

field and in society at large. This is during the program period 2010-2012 – and further on - done 

through an increased integration and elaboration of the already existing expertise on climate 

change and the media within the partner group. Climate change is an inherently global issue and is 

thus pedagogically well suited as a running theme in a global journalism program. This universal

aspect does however not downplay discussions about world inequality, differences in environment, 

political systems and media systems, - quite the contrary. The whole complexity of the global can 

be included in discourses on climate change; discourses that we most often meet in the media. 

The purpose can be broken down into two operationalized parts: 

1) The network: long-term qualitative development of the international master program Global 

Journalism, specifically through increased integration of climate change in the courses and 

planning of further development of the climate change and environment theme, moreover joint 

efforts to keep up with and problematize technological development in relation to journalism, 

underway evaluation of program and network activities, and reinforcement of possibilities to 

disseminate our experiences of global journalism education also outside the Nordic countries. 

2) Mobility: enable students and teachers to travel between Sweden, Finland and Norway to 

take part in courses and meetings, and thereby also enhance cross-national Nordic experiences.

Network description: Nordplus netværket i medier og kommunikation har som mål at fremme 

udveksling af studerende og undervisere mellem institutioner, som giver undervisning i forskellige 

aspekter af fagfeltet medier og kommunikation i Norden, herunder også film. 

Fagfeltet medier og kommunikation er meget bredt, og der gives ikke lige specialiseret 

undervisning inden for alle områder på de i netværket deltagende institutioner. Faget dækker i 

stikordsform: kommunikationsformer, mediesamfundet, medieinstitutioner, mediebudskaber, 

mediereception og publikum, og omfatter forskningsretninger/specialiseringer som 

massekommunikation, medievidenskab, journalistik, filmvidenskab, medieteknologi, nye medier. 

Netværket omfatter de vigtigste miljøer i Norden, som giver undervisning i medier og 

kommunikation, herunder også film - i alt 17 institutioner fra de 5 nordiske lande og Grønland. 

Der søges derfor mobilitetsstipendier for studerende og undervisere for i alt 17 

samarbejdspartnere - 1 applicant/koordinator (Institut for Informations- og Medievidenskab,

Network: Nordic Master School in Innovative Information and 

Communication Technologies (NMS iICT)

Network description: Nordic Master School in Innovative ICT (NMS in iICT) is based on the 

extension of the Nordic Master Program on Innovative ICT, which was one of the five granted 

Nordic Master Programs by Nordic Council of Ministers. The Nordic Master Program on Innovative 

ICT (NMP) was a TUCS coordinated pilot project for 2007-2008. The NMP pilot project was based 

on cooperation and further development of existing international ICT master programs (120 ECTS) 

at five universities: TUCS (ÅAU, UTU, TSE), KTH and DTU. 

The NMS iICT is a virtual umbrella organization that covers all ICT Master level education in the 

partner universities. As the pool of eligible students in the NMP was around 900 students

participating to international educational programs in partner universities, and this NMS iICT 

programme doubles the participating number of students building one of the largest educational 

initiative in the world with ICT and innovation focus. While the purpose of the NMP was to attract 

more top overseas students to the Nordic Universities with excellent specialization possibilities and 

innovation studies, the NMS iICT aims further to network the Nordic-Baltic universities more 

efficiently in order to strengthen the buildup of the Nordic innovation powerhouse concept and 

awareness and increase the quality, attractiveness and competence of the ICT education within 

participating universities for the local students. 

The specific aims of this NMS iICT Nordplus project is 

* Promote excellence in education and cultural integration through integrating national ICT 

educational programs to international programs, enhancing mobility targeting towards concrete 

individual study outcomes of participating students, and contributing and promoting Nordic 

Innovation Powerhouse concepts center around Baltic Sea with a clear Baltic-Nordic identity and 

global visibility 

* Promoting a new phase of university networking by introducing virtual school concept; NMS 

iICT, which is empowering new innovation and quality measures in our master educational system 

through actively disseminating best practices, and through creating new innovative concepts and 

operational models. NMS iICT works as empowering platform for strategic and far reaching 

university and faculty cooperation in the ICT sector. 

* Renewal and enlargement of the Nordic Master Program on Innovative ICT network, 

development new joint study programs (like innovation and entrepreneurship in ICT joint modules) 

and coordinating and developing focus and interaction between existing study programs, and 

developing new joint program curriculum (e.g. towards Erasmus Mundus). 

* Development of sustainable and long-term strategic partnership between participating 

universities and faculties, which can extended beyond NordPlus e.g. towards next generation Marie 

Curie EU programs, EU outreach programs towards developing economies, and towards Knowledge 

and Innovation Community educational content in the coming European Institute of Technology. 

NMS iICT will provide a virtual school platform for various outreach activities resulting to extensive 

and long term cooperation. 

* To expand NMP platform, the virtual school structure, with new Baltic-Nordic partners who are 

committed to share the same vision and are committed to act openly in a new networked 

structure. The natural way for this is the new initiatives to be taken within NMS iICT as mentioned 

in the paragraph above.

Network description: Huvudkoordinatorn för NORDLYS är Linnéuniversitetet. Denna 

delansökning koordineras av Åbo 

universitet (University of Turku). NORDLYS är ett ämnesövergripande sk. ”öppet nätverk” som 

omfattar 36 nordiska universitet. Nätverket bildades år 1995 av en grupp NORDPLUS 

kontaktpersoner som arbetade på centrala förvaltningarna vid universiteten. Syftet var och 

fortfarande är att främja den nordiska studentmobiliteten samt förbättra kommunikationen mellan 

de nordiska universiteten. Senare har nätverket också utvidgat sig till lärarmobiliteten.

Network: Gensidig udveksling af studenter og undervisere inden for 

socialrådgiveruddannelserne i København og Grønland

Network description: Projektets formål er at bidrage til gensidig faglig udvikling af børn- og 

ungeområdet på professionshøjskolen Metropols socialrådgiveruddannelse og den tilsvarende 

uddannelse på Grønlands Universitet. Projektets aktiviteter retter sig således mod udvikling af 

uddannelsernes curriculum inden for børn- og ungeområdet med henblik på udvikling af kvaliteten 

i fagets praksisudøvelse inden for det pågældende felt. Gennem samarbejdet ønskes udviklet en 

faglig platform til brug for eksempelvis afdækning af ressourcer og mangler i arbejdet indenfor 

børn og ungeområdet, såvel i Danmark som i Grønland.

Network description: NORDLYS är ett ämnesövergripande så kallat öppet nätverk inom 

NORDPLUS, numera omfattande alla universitet i Norden. Nätverket bildades år 1995 av en grupp 

Nordplus kontaktpersoner som arbetade på centrala förvaltningarna vid universiteten. Syftet var 

och är att främja den nordiska student- och lärarmobiliteten samt förbättra kommunikationen 

mellan de nordiska universiteten. 

NORDLYS vänder sig främst till studenter som inte kan söka NORDPLUS-stipendier inom etablerade 

institutionsnätverk eller som vill läsa ett annat ämne än det man läser vid hemuniversitetet 

(tvärvetenskapliga studier), och stöder främst de mindre internationaliserade ämnesområden. 

Nätverket arbetar också för att öka studentutbytet till universitet som idag endast utväxlar ett fåtal 

studenter. 

För att ytterligare stärka det nordiska samarbetet ger NORDLYS också en möjlighet för lärare att 

söka stipendier för mobilitet inom nätverket. Det nordiska samarbetet stärks genom lärarutbyte. 

Det goda samarbetet med samtliga universitet i Norden ger våra lärare fantastiska möjligheter att 

genomföra så kallade lärarbesök med undervisning för att skapa och hitta nya samarbetspartner 

utanför de etablerade ämnesnätverken. Lärarmobiliteten inom NORDLYS kan mycket väl ha en 

katalysatorverkan i att skapa nya ämnesnätverk och sätta igång nya nordiska projekt.

Network description: Nettverket har siden 1995 arbeidet for å fremme studentmobilitet i Norden 

på tvers av 

fagmiljøer og grenser, samt styrke samarbeidet mellom universitetene. I 2005 ble 

også lærermobilitet en del av aktiviteten i nettverket. Nye partnere i NORDLYS kan kun tas 

opp på årsmøte etter forslag fra det respektive lands delegasjon. Høgskolen i Stavanger ble 

godkjent og etablert som Universitetet i Stavanger den 1. januar 2005. Vi ble således foreslått og 

vedtatt som medlem av NORDLYS-nettverket under årsmøtet på Færøyene den 10. juni 2005.

Network: Nordplus Conservation Network

Network description: Det övergripande syftet med Nordplus Conservation Network, som 

startade under 1990-talets början, är att stärka kulturvårdens ställning i Norden med Baltikum, 

det ryska närområdet och därigenom i Europa. Nätverket består av kulturvårdsutbildningar och 

institutioner inom Norden. Kulturvård, som inom sig rymmer konservering av föremål och 

dokument, preventiv konservering samt bebyggelse/byggnadsvård är ett litet men brett 

tvärvetenskapligt ämnesområde med viktig samverkan inom de nordiska länderna
