The gear unit’s thermal rating must be at least as large as the operating power on the<br />

input shaft [HSS]<br />

Dependencies The permitted forces on the shaft depend on the following factors:<br />

• Service factor<br />

• Required bearing service life<br />

• Direction of the axial load (from or towards gear unit)<br />

• Application angle of the overhung load (rotating or at a specific position)<br />

• Application angle of the overhung load in relation to the shaft shoulder<br />

• Relation axial load/overhung load and vice versa<br />
