Malaysia – 3 March 2010 – Sales Division of <strong>Pioneer</strong> Technology today announced the launch of three<br />

new in-vehicle multimedia AV receivers designed to deliver exceptional audio and video entertainment,<br />

portable device connectivity and enhanced communication capability to the automotive environment.<br />

The “<strong>AVH</strong>” series multimedia AV receivers consist of two double DIN units, the <strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-<strong>P3250</strong>DVD,<br />

<strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-P<strong>4250</strong>DVD, and an in-dash model, the <strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-P<strong>5250DVD</strong>.<br />

These models boast large touch screen displays from 5.8 to 7-inches and include a variety of features<br />

such as the enhanced touch slide user interface, iPod®/iPhone® 1 control, USB connectivity 2 , SD card<br />

playback, Bluetooth® 3 , and navigation 4 upgradeability.<br />

“<strong>Pioneer</strong> is transforming the automobile into a hub for entertainment, convenience, and<br />

communication,” said Toshiharu Momotari, Senior General Manager of Sales & Marketing Group,<br />

<strong>Pioneer</strong> Electronics AsiaCentre. “The new <strong>AVH</strong> series multimedia AV receivers correspond to today’s onthe-go<br />

lifestyle, with technology that enables consumers to seamlessly integrate many of the most<br />

popular portable devices with their in-vehicle <strong>Pioneer</strong> system.”<br />

With such a wide range of capabilities, <strong>Pioneer</strong> identified the need to create a simpler, more intuitive<br />

user interface for the <strong>AVH</strong> series multi-media receivers. Eliminating the need to have multiple layers of<br />

menus within the control architecture, the touch slide interface enables users to quickly navigate<br />

through the control menus by touching and dragging the text on the screen. Users can fast forward and<br />

rewind simply touching and sliding on the playback progress indicator displayed on the screen.<br />

Advanced iPod and iPhone Integration<br />

The <strong>AVH</strong> series receivers expand the way consumers use iPod / iPhone devices by providing direct<br />

access and iPod / iPhone specific features including display of album art, alphabetical speed search of<br />

music and the added ability of giving passengers the option to switch to direct control using the iPod /<br />

iPhone device interface.


Connectivity<br />

Each unit features built-in connectivity to USB storage devices 2 , Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, and<br />

devices with mini-jack A/V outputs for diverse media playback capabilities. All three <strong>AVH</strong> series<br />

receivers are Bluetooth 3 hands-free communication capable with the addition of an optional <strong>Pioneer</strong><br />

Bluetooth receiver.<br />

Customisation<br />

Each model offers a spectrum of options for users to customise the button illumination colours and<br />

background, adding a personal touch to the <strong>AVH</strong> series receivers. Users can choose from 112 different<br />

button illumination colours to match their dashboard lighting, for a seamless fit with their vehicle and<br />

providing an OEM level of cosmetic integration. While a customisable background feature provides<br />

users with the choice of four pre-loaded wallpapers, three background visuals (BGV), or the ability to<br />

import their own JPEG image from a CD-ROM, USB storage device, or SD card to use as wallpaper.<br />

Video<br />

The new systems offers playback of iPod video, DVD video discs and DivX video content. With <strong>Pioneer</strong>’s<br />

new Dual Decode 5 , users can also display JPEG images during music playback, similar to the slideshow<br />

feature commonly found on digital picture frames.<br />

Sound<br />

Audio output for each player is enhanced by <strong>Pioneer</strong>’s MOSFET50 50 Watts X 4 amplification, 4-Volt preamp<br />

outputs, High-Pass/Low-Pass crossovers for subwoofer integration, patented advanced sound<br />

retriever (ASR) to restore the musical detail lost in the creation of compressed music files, and auto<br />

equaliser for automatic tailoring of the sound to each vehicle (CD-MC20 microphone required). In<br />

addition, each <strong>AVH</strong> series receiver features <strong>Pioneer</strong>’s Sonic Centre Control, which creates a more<br />

focused sound stage with adjustments of frequency phase and acoustic characteristics by up to 15 steps.<br />

The 2010 Audio/Video systems will be available from 3 March 2010 at the recommended retail prices of<br />

RM 2,188 for the <strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-<strong>P3250</strong>DVD, RM 2,788 for the <strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-P<strong>4250</strong>DVD and the price for<br />

the <strong>Pioneer</strong> <strong>AVH</strong>-P<strong>5250DVD</strong> will be confirm soon.<br />

your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules.<br />
