"rite foul" classes at tlte biglt school will bare
a league .w,hich will allow youn tm not quite up
to varsity calibre to play organized basketball It is
hoped that a number of. kids wlto othm vise would
ha ;e no chance to play will get in the game. It is
also hoped that tile league will develop some talent
for the varsity sciuad.
Tiffs.will be tfm first opportunit for tile grammar
school kids to play basketball under school
supervision. In past years there were no facilities
for this competition. Here again the l ids will get
aoth a lot of fun out of supervised play and will
lave some knowledge of basketball before they get
'nto ldgb school.
I also bear that th members of the faculty
are going to get into tlfe act. They're going to get
together for some infmanal workouts. Probably
,vouldn't do any harm for many of us to get a little
, xercise of this sort.
Repm s are around that Soutbington High
School is having a little difficulty in filling its 1951
schedule. Altbough the local high school only has
240 boys, tile calibre of the football teams has been
so high that the schools of similar size feel that
tile Blue Knights are too good for them and tile
bigger cities are afraid to risk their prestige by
taking a chance of getting licked by such a small
school.
Ask the lfeople who own tele¢ision sets how
they ike them. Then come in and get the family
set for Christmas. It's something
everyone of every age can get a lot of pleas-
Don't forget to get those gifts in the mail if
you expect the boys in service to get tltiem in time
for Chrtstmas. And be sine they re properl: wr,tppad
and addresged..
Parking seerrk to be el:upping up in the concersation
more and more. Apparently l)eople don't
n , t iake advantage of 12moar in pace in
back of the Legion Hall. One suggestion to make it
more attractive is to make an entrance to the lot
off Center Street.
Sincerely, ,
