91, of Waterville, passed away<br />
on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at<br />
Community Memorial Health<br />
Care in Marysville.<br />
Betty was born April 17,<br />
1921, at Delta, Iowa. She graduated<br />
Valedictorian from<br />
Ainsworth High School in<br />

Marysville, KS, died<br />
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at<br />
Cambridge Place in Marysville.<br />
Visitation was Friday, April<br />

Gail E. Jones, 64, died<br />
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at<br />
the Jefferson Community<br />
Health Care, Fairbury, NE.<br />
Iowa and received her Teaching<br />
Certificate from Iowa State<br />
Teacher’s College in Cedar<br />
Falls. After teaching several<br />
years, she married her high<br />
school sweet heart, Maurice J.<br />
Stone, on March 9, 1946.<br />
Together they raised their family<br />
in Burlington, Iowa where<br />
Maurice was employed at The<br />
Iowa Army Ammunition Plant<br />
and Betty was a homemaker.<br />
In the 1970’s they were transferred<br />
to Amarillo, Texas.<br />
Upon retirement, Betty and<br />
Maurice moved to Waterville.<br />
Betty was a member of the<br />
Waterville United Methodist<br />
Church where she was active in<br />
Sunday School. She was a former<br />
member of Toastmasters,<br />
as well as several book and<br />
writing clubs. Betty also had a<br />
lifelong interest in music, piano<br />
27, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at<br />
Kinsley Mortuary. The family<br />
received friends from 6 to 8<br />
p.m.<br />
A funeral service was held at<br />
10 a.m., Saturday, April 28 at<br />
Zion Lutheran Church,<br />
Hanover. Rev. Jill Menard officiated.<br />
Mae Nieman played the<br />
organ while Wayne Kruse sang<br />
“Precious Lord Take My<br />
Hand”, “Because He Lives”<br />
and “On Eagles Wings.”<br />
The pallbearers were Jeff<br />
Cumro, Mike Reves, Greg<br />
Brown, Billy Thompson, David<br />
Frohberg, Daniel Frohberg,<br />
Douglas Frohberg and David<br />
Cedarberg.<br />
A funeral service was at 10<br />
a.m., Monday, April 30 at the<br />
Presbyterian Church,<br />
Washington. Pastor Marilyn<br />
Sweet and Sister Marilyn Wall<br />
officiated. Gay Lynn Manning<br />
was pianist and Dr. Jim Smart<br />
sang "There's a Song in the Air"<br />
and "How Great Thou Art."<br />
Burial was in the<br />
Washington City Cemetery.<br />
Pallbearers were Jim Jones, Jay<br />
Peters, Glenn Bekemeyer, Greg<br />
Bekemeyer, Dale Kohlmeyer<br />
and Robb Kohlmeyer.<br />

Betty was preceded in death<br />
by her husband Maurice in<br />
2003 and by her parents, Bud<br />
and Ruth (McMullen) Shearer.<br />
A viewing will be from noon<br />
to 8:00 pm, Sunday at Terry-<br />
Christie Funeral Home in<br />
Waterville. Betty’s family will<br />
receive visitors at the funeral<br />
Burial was in the Hanover<br />
Cemetery.<br />
Orel was born November 8,<br />
1913 at Hull, KS. She attended<br />
school at Beattie and Carden.<br />
On January 27, 1932 she<br />
married Henry Roever.<br />
Together they farmed north of<br />
Home and later Waterville until<br />
1958.<br />
Orel worked at the radio factory<br />
in Marysville, operated the<br />
Hanover Locker at Hanover,<br />
and volunteered at Boogarts in<br />
Marysville for fifteen years.<br />
She was a member of Zion<br />
Lutheran Church and the<br />
Moose Lodge. She enjoyed<br />
dancing, playing cards and<br />
making ceramics.<br />
“Butch” and Thelma<br />
(Kohlmeyer) Tegethoff. In<br />
1965 she graduated from<br />
Washington High School. In<br />
1966 she graduated from<br />
Brown Mackie Business<br />
School.<br />
On February 15, 1969, she<br />
was united in marriage to<br />
Harold Jones, Jr., at<br />
Washington, KS. They farmed<br />
and ran a trash service in<br />
Jackson County and then at<br />
Woodland Park, CO. She raised<br />
numerous breeds of dogs while<br />
on the farm near Wetmore. In<br />
2002, they moved back to<br />
Washington and operated Jones<br />
Trash Service and farmed. She<br />
also worked as a secretary for<br />
Lohrengel Tax and Accounting<br />
and for Farmers Insurance.<br />
Gail was a member of the<br />
Presbyterian Church in<br />
Washington and was involved<br />
Lancy Boyd Davis, II<br />
Lancy Boyd Davis, II died<br />
April 16, 2012 near Milford,<br />
KS at the age of 39. He was<br />
born on June 26, 1972 in<br />
Covington, LA the son of<br />
Lancy Davis and Vivian<br />
Hopkins.<br />
Lancy was raised and attended<br />
school in Tallishiek, LA. He<br />
served in the US Navy for two<br />
years, stationed in Japan and<br />
aboard the USS Midway and<br />
USS Eisenhower. Lancy<br />
worked as a surveyor for Ned<br />
Wilson in Mandeville, LA, for<br />
Randall Brown, BFM and<br />
MPH, all of Louisiana. He was<br />
working as a surveyor for Kaw<br />
Valley Engineering in Junction<br />
City. Lancy married Ruby<br />
Meche on June 26, 1996, she<br />
survives of the home.<br />

lived in Colorado. She was also<br />
a member of the saddle club in<br />
Colorado and enjoyed spending<br />
time with her grandsons and<br />
family. Gail played the piano as<br />
a child and loved all kinds of<br />
animals and flowers.<br />

(Jay) Peters, Jim (GayLynn)<br />
Jones, all of Washington; mother,<br />
Thelma Tegethoff,<br />
Washington; sister, Joan (Jeff)<br />
Kugler, York, NE; brother, Don<br />
(Debbie) Tegethoff,<br />
Washington; and two grandsons,<br />
Jim and Pete.<br />
Her father preceded her in<br />
death.<br />

established in her name and<br />
