Marriage Announcement
Crystal Marie Patrick and Antony
Wade Fralin Sr. were married
Thursday June 10, 2010 at the Blue
Springs Fireman’s Memorial Hall.
The red neck theme provided a fun but
simple elegance to the ceremony officiated
by Reverend Theodora Boolin
of the First Baptist Church of
Beatrice.
The Bride was stunning in a vintage,
white, organza gown adorned
with lace and rhinestones setting off
her fair skin and red hair. She wore a
necklace of faceted crystal beads that
once belonged to the groom’s greatgreat
aunt. Crystal’s beautiful red
tresses were crowned with a simple
white headdress. The Groom stood
with her looking handsome in black
suit and sky blue tie and ear to ear
smile. The couple stood before a
backdrop of black and white satin
covered by a curtain of netting dotted
with pink flowers covering an antique
brass stand designed by the groom’s
sister Angela Cary.
Maid of Honor was Crystel Owens
future sister-in-law of the bride,
Bridesmaids Tara Riensche – grooms
cousin, and Katelynne Coyle cousin of
the bride. Best Man Mike Kastor and
Groomsman Doug Kiessling stood for
the groom. Felicia Cary, niece of the
groom, walked as flower girl with Jay
Esslinger, son of the bride, as Ring
Top 8 Wonders Of Kansas History
Inman. After a record-setting
19,146 votes, the Kansas Sampler
Foundation announced the top 8
Wonders of Kansas History. The following,
listed in alphabetical order,
were the top 8 vote getters.
1930s Dust Bowl to Gas
Exploration, Historic Adobe Museum,
Ulysses
Boot Hill Museum/Historic Dodge
City
Council Grove, Santa Fe Trail
National Historic Landmark
Historic Fort Leavenworth,
Historic Fort Riley, Junction City
Kansas Museum of History, Topeka
Kanza Tribe & Lewis and Clark’s
Independence Creek, Atchison
More than 170 historical sites were
nominated by the public but a selection
committee whittled the list down
to 24 finalists. Criteria required that a
nomination represent significant history
but also give the public something
of visual magnitude to see.
Previously, the highest vote total
came in the 8 Wonders of Kansas
Cuisine contest with 13,863. Kansas
Sampler Foundation director Marci
Penner said, “Once again, we had
votes from every state in the union as
well as from several foreign countries.
The increased number of votes
means more people learned about
Kansas!”
Penner continued, “The results indicate
that voters were most interested
in history that dated back prior to
statehood. The only entrant in the top
8 with “recent” history was the 1930s
Dust Bowl entry at the Historic Adobe
Museum in Ulysses. Then, the Kansas
Museum of History rounded out the
by her mother and step-father
Tommy and Mary Edwards of
Marysville, Kansas and the groom was
presented by his parents Joel and
Glenda Fralin of Wymore, NE.
Pastor Boolin tailored the ceremony
specifically for the couple by encompassing
the wedding area in a spiritual
drape of prayer and reverence including
the oft referred to love chapter
top 8 with an appreciative nod from
voters.”
The Kansas Cosmosphere & Space
Center, the Kansas Underground Salt
Museum, and the Eisenhower
Presidential Library and Museum
were chosen as overall 8 Wonders of
Kansas so they were not eligible in the
History contest.
Designed to educate the public
about what there is to see and do in
Kansas and to encourage travel, the
series of 8 Wonders contests are
organized by the Inman-based Kansas
Sampler Foundation.
