QUALITY IN DETAIL
OKULIX is a software for the calculation of the
optical properties of the human eye by means of
numerical ray tracing. OKULIX thus allows a fast
and easy selection of the power of intraocular
lenses (IOL).
All necessary physical cornea data are aquired with
the TMS topography unit. The OKULIX IOL database
contains the physical/optical description of most
IOLs (and not just only the A-constant). OKULIX
selects the proper IOL power by relating these data
with the actual eye’s axial length. A choice of four
favourite IOLs can be preselected for calculation.
OKULIX overcomes the limitations of the classical
IOL calculation formulae. You can select IOLs for any
type of eyes, no matter if there is a short, a normal
or a long eye, no matter if there is a case of previous
refractive surgery, of a present keratoconus or
of a high cornea astigmatism.
No personal statistic is needed to improve the personalised
surgeon factor.
A comparison of more than 3000 eyes shows the
reliability of OKULIX ray tracing in normal eyes,
without any personalisation of A-constant and/or
consideration of eye types.
As soon as the eye is getting very short or long, the
advantages of ray tracing will be more obvious.
TECHNOLOGY AND VISION
OKULIX uses the assumption
of linearity of ACD and
axial length for IOL power
calculation. This makes
OKULIX independent of the
condition of the eye.
