With a footprint of 55 x 55 cm faros requires very little space.
Control elements can be used while sitting comfortably or standing.
After surgery the IV pole is automatically retracted. Then, the
device – with a weight of only 31.5 kg when fully equipped – can
be moved aside comfortably, and the integrated foot sub-systems
lend stability to faros.
Under the table, the pedal, with only 22 x 30 cm requires re markably
little space. With a weight of 4.3 kg it stays safely in position,
but the surgeon can still move it easily with the foot handle.
faros is slim and means that you do not have to use an instrument
table that may sometimes be too small and sometimes too large.
Connection voltage may fluctuate between 100 V and 240 V. Even
during a vitrectomy with light, faros hardly consumes more than
100 watts. There is no ventilator making a noise and producing
exhaust air, and after a power cut the device is in its operating
mode again within 10 seconds. In the case of insufficient supply
pressure you simply have to do without the Visco function.
