THE Tiwi Art frama design will be released<br />
nationally on 6 October. It is taken from a<br />
design by Tiwi artist Maria Josette Orsto<br />
commissioned by <strong>Australia</strong> <strong>Post</strong> and used<br />
for the set of postage prepaid envelopes<br />
issued in September 1997.<br />
The design depicts Jilamara, which<br />
is a Tiwi word for body painting. Body<br />
NB: First day covers, FDI postmark and<br />
the maximum card will not be issued with<br />
this release as they were issued with the<br />
original release on 19 March 1999.<br />

Frama <strong>stamp</strong>s are available from<br />
vending machines located at GPOs (except<br />
Darwin and Perth) and major post offices<br />
throughout <strong>Australia</strong>. The machines at the<br />
capital city GPOs dispense <strong>stamp</strong>s which<br />
show the relevant postcode. All other<br />
machines dispense <strong>stamp</strong>s with a number<br />
identifying each vending machine.<br />
These numbers were introduced as a<br />
security measure.<br />
The Tiwi Art Frama were first released<br />
on 19 March at <strong>Australia</strong> 99. The <strong>stamp</strong>s<br />
featured a special <strong>Australia</strong> 99 literal, and<br />
were also available on a first day cover and<br />
maximum card.<br />
