19 Jan 98 Howard Solomon As you begin your studies, you'll probably have definitions of IT discussed in classes, so there's no definitive answer. I take IT to be "the study of the devices and methods that assist and enable learning." For the past few years, IT has been heavily involved with computers. They are only one of many devices on a list of the technologies used in instruction. They're new, flexible, and popular devices, though, so they merit our concentration on them. But welcome to the field and to ITForum. The endeavor to produce successful instruction is a huge enough undertaking that we need all the practitioners we can find.
