NSCC Thoresby Sprint 18th September‏ <strong>2011</strong><br />

The Nottingham Sports <strong>Car</strong> Club's traditional conclusion to the <strong>2011</strong> Speed<br />

Championship took place in the perfect setting of the historic <strong>and</strong> picturesque<br />

Thoresby Hall Estate in north Nottinghamshire.<br />

The final round of the two day meeting took place on Sunday 18th September with<br />

65 cars competing.<br />

The start line tarmac sections in<br />

front of the magnificent house,<br />

now a luxury hotel, lead into the<br />

parkl<strong>and</strong> sections of concrete<br />

track through the wooded <strong>and</strong><br />

countryside sections of the<br />

magnificent Thoresby Estate.<br />

These sections were laid down<br />

during the 2nd World War to<br />

provide st<strong>and</strong>ing areas for<br />

tanks, the specification of these<br />

explaining why they are still in<br />

perfect condition.<br />

The meeting would also play<br />

Al Frayling-Cork Austin 7 Road class winner<br />

Geoff Toms Fiat 803-501<br />

host to a round of the Bert Hadley Memorial for Austin 7s of road <strong>and</strong> track<br />

categories.<br />

Fastest time of the day went to Gary Thomas' Force PT from the racing cars up to<br />

1100cc class in a time of 45.64 secs, with the following two places <strong>and</strong> class wins<br />

going to Peter Goulding's Westfield SEiW <strong>and</strong> Nigel Cresswell's Fisher Fury from the<br />
