Jennifer M. Ryan ’79, Ph.D., of<br />

Montclair, announced the opening<br />

of her family medical practice in<br />

Caldwell. Ryan, who is board certified<br />

in family practice, also is on<br />

staff at Mountainside Hospital in<br />

Glen Ridge. Ronald C. Stanziale<br />

’79 and Lori Maloney Stanziale<br />

’79, of Middletown, announced the<br />

birth of their daughter, Elyse Ann,<br />

in November 1998. John J. Szabo,<br />

M.A.E. ’79/Ed. D. ’94, of Manalapan,<br />

was appointed superintendent of<br />

Waldwick schools. Szabo had been<br />

the principal of Bloomfield High<br />

School since 1988.<br />

1980s<br />

William L. Brennan ’80, of<br />

Westfield, was appointed municipal<br />

court judge in Westfield. Brennan<br />

brings more than 15 years of legal<br />

experience to his new post, including<br />

five years as assistant district<br />

attorney in Brooklyn, the second<br />

largest district attorney’s office in the<br />

nation. Since 1988, he has been a<br />

partner in the law firm of Callan,<br />

Regenstrenstreich, Koster & Brady,<br />

with offices in Shrewsbury and New<br />

York City. Julia Slattery ’80, of West<br />

Caldwell, was appointed assistant<br />

principal of Irvington High School,<br />

Frank L. Morrell campus. Currently<br />

in her 18th year with the district,<br />

Slattery has been a basic skills<br />

instructor and teacher.<br />

Paul Hotak Choi, M.A.E. ’81,<br />

of Livingston, received a Doctor of<br />

Ministry from The Southern Baptist<br />

Theological Seminary in Louisville,<br />

KY. Linda J. Mack, J.D. ’81, of<br />

Lawrenceville, was named to the<br />

board of trustees of the McCarter<br />

Theatre in Princeton, which has<br />

won a Tony for being the nation’s<br />

outstanding regional theater. Mack,<br />

a partner in Fox, Rothschild, O’Brien<br />

& Frankel, also is co-chair of the<br />

Super-Fund Committee for the<br />

environmental law section of the<br />

New Jersey State Bar Association,<br />

a trustee for the Mercer County Bar<br />

Association and a member of the<br />

Society of Women Environmental<br />

Professionals. Marcella L.<br />

Piasecki ’81, of Boca Raton, FL,<br />

was named director of Funeral<br />

Service Education at Lynn<br />

Michael A. Perreca ’83, of<br />

Brooklyn, NY, was named the artistic<br />

director of the Naples Theatre in<br />

New York City. Perreca was chosen<br />

from more than 100 candidates<br />

throughout the United States,<br />

Canada and England. Russell<br />

Yarem ’83, of South Plains, and<br />

his wife, Joan, announced the birth<br />

of their son, Peter Francis, in<br />

March 1999.<br />

John J. Henschel, J.D. ’84, of<br />

Warren Township, was appointed<br />

treasurer of the New Jersey State<br />

Bar Foundation, the educational<br />

and philanthropic arm of the New<br />

Jersey State Bar Association.<br />

James S. Lusk, M.B.A. ’84, of<br />

Basking Ridge, was named chairman<br />

of the Conference Board<br />

Controllers Council at Lucent<br />

Technologies. Lusk, the vice president<br />

and controller at Lucent, formerly<br />

was the chief financial officer<br />

of AT&T Network Systems North<br />

America Group. Michael A. Perullo<br />

’84 and Frances A. Perullo ’85, of<br />

Edison, announced the birth of<br />

their third daughter, Michelle, in<br />

March 1999. She joins Katie, 5,<br />
