Time is available for nonboard members to have input during these meetings. So if you have interest, ideas to offer, or anything that you’d like to submit, you are more than welcome to attend. President’s Message Bruce Bero, President First of all I would like to thank all of the CCCR/ PCA members who volunteered their time and efforts in making the “Avila Beach Concours” a remarkable event. As of this writing I don’t know the dollar amount raised and donated to Hospice but will be sure to pass it on when the accounting is final. Working with the executive committee from Hospice thru the planning and final stages was indeed a pleasure and look forward to doing so next year. The weather was less than desirable which did affect overall attendance although all in all entrants and visitors seemed to really enjoy themselves. The amount of display and specialty cars was outstanding with very few no shows. The CCCR/PCA election ballots have been presented to the membership and the tabulation process will take place on the 15 th of November. The new board will be presented at the Holiday party on December 4 th , which by the way is shaping up to be an outstanding event so get your reservations early. Editor’s Exhaust Bob “Kit” Kitamura, CCCR Editor I had a chance to only go on half of the Canepa Motorsports and the Roaring Camp Steam Railroad trip. I was completely “blown away” by what I experienced at Canepa Motorsports. I have seen Bruce Canepa race at the Monterey Historics and heard his name related to Porsche but what I saw and heard at his operation overwhelmed me. Hearing him talk about his adventures with each of the cars made the two and half hours fly by. I could have spent another few hours listening to his stories. You will read about the trip later in this issue. As Bob De Vries mentions in the article, we will have a few articles for the Coastalaire coming from this trip. I rarely get excited about a new TV show but one of the best car shows on BBC TV will soon be on our local Charter channel. Top Gear will start on California Central Coast Porsche Club Of America November 2010 Year in and year out one of the best attended events is the “New Member BBQ.” This event is free to all members and has always been the perfect way to put names, cars and faces together. This year’s BBQ will be held on the Sunday the 14 th of November; Paul Fasching is the chairman and would appreciate a head count as soon as possible. You will find all the contact information in the Coastalaire or on the website. Speaking of the website, be sure and take a look (ccc.pca.org). Webmaster, Eriel Nash has done an outstanding job with the new graphics, content and ease of navigation. Everything you want is there or will be as we move ahead. Eriel is always open to ideas and suggestions so email him you thoughts (eriel@eriel.com). “ IT’S THE MEMBERS THAT MAKE IT WORK “ ~ Bruce Sunday Nov 21 st on the History Channel at 10 pm. For those of you that have never seen one of their shows are in for a treat. Jeremy, Richard and James provide an entertaining time, talking, showing, test-driving and doing other things to cars. Do not miss this show! October 2 nd was the last ALMS race for 2010 at Petit Le Mans in Georgia. Flying Lizard Motorsports driving the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GT class won the division championship for the 5 th time in six years. Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long, Porsche factory drivers, were the successful drivers. Another first for Porsche was the debut of the 911 GT3R Hybrid, although not officially in the competition, it did well up against some of the fastest factory cars in the world. ~ Kit 5
