1686; resided there; "John Toby, Jr." was
chosen for " the petit jury for the superior court," 5
March, 1727-8.
He was married in Bridgewater, Aug. 30, 1710
(by Elisha Brett, Justice of the Peace) to Mary Jennings
(probably the daughter of Ephraim and Deliverance
Jennings, and born Jan. 1, 1719-1720).
Children :
i. Thankful, b. Dec. 29, 1712.
ii. Eeliance, b. Nov. 23, 1713; m. Aug. 30, 1733,
Ebenezer Goodspeed of Barnstable,
iii. Mary, b. July 23, 1715.

"Thomas Tobie married July 12, 1711, Mary Damen."

" Thomas Toby of Scituate, husbandman, with wife Mary,"
sold " one fifth of all the estate which our honoured father
Zechariah Damon late of Scituate died seized of" to John Damon,
Feb. 17, 1730.
He probably resided afterward near the boundary
of his native town in the district which had been in-
corporated as Hanover, and then attended church at
