Instruments: Flexible steel tape, calibrated in<br />
centimeters with millimeter gradations.<br />
General technique: The metal case is held in the<br />
right hand throughout all the girth measurements.<br />
The girths are measured with the tape at right<br />
angles to the long axis of a bone or body segment.
