Director of Alumni
nother year has
gone by, and what a
year it has been! The
spring was filled with
events in Birmingham,
Montgomery, Centre,
Miller
Dothan and Huntsville,
Ala., and Nashville,
Tenn. Alumni Weekend
2009 was held March 26–27 at the
Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort. The
weekend attracted a very large turnout of
graduates. Mark White ’74 was honored
as Distinguished Alumnus, and he passed
the gavel to our new National Alumni
Association president, Lenora Pate ’85.
Thank you, Mark, for such wonderful
leadership these last two years! More than
200 people attended the gala dinner and
more than 300 enjoyed various class
parties throughout Birmingham.
If we didn’t visit your area this year,
please let us know if you would be interested
in hosting an event or helping us to
schedule one in your area. We look forward
to another year of great events and hope to
see you there!
The alumni page on the school’s website
is updated weekly with class notes,
pictures from events and links to our
online communities. We are ramping up
efforts to communicate online through
social media groups, including Facebook,
Twitter and LinkedIn. We want to use every
avenue possible to stay in touch with
alumni. Find ways to join these groups and

Thank you to all our alumni and
friends who have helped us this year with
interviewing prospective students,
speaking at events, volunteering to help
the alumni office in many ways and supporting
us financially. As my first year as
director comes to a close, I am humbled by
the continual realization that it is alumni
such as you that keep the school great.
