A Winning Tradition<br />

Championship<br />
<strong>Missouri</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
first competed in the Mineral Water Bowl in<br />
1975. <strong>Western</strong> defeated Graceland 44-0 and<br />
finished with an 8-3-1 overall record.<br />
The 2003 MIAA regular season champion and Mineral<br />
Water Bowl championship team finished the season<br />
with a 9-3 overall record and beat Concordia-St. Paul<br />
24-14 in the Mineral Water Bowl.<br />
Griffon Football 2011<br />
The 1977 football team was inducted into the MWSU<br />
Hall of Fame in 2010. The team won the Boot Hill Bowl<br />
by a score of 35-30 over Benedictine on November 19,<br />
1977. They finished the season with an 8-2-1 overall<br />
record and a 4-2-1 CSIC record.<br />
The Griffons won their third Mineral Water Bowl<br />
in 2005, defeating Concordia-St. Paul 35-23.<br />
<strong>Western</strong> finished the season with a 9-3 overall<br />
record and a 6-2 record in the MIAA.
