Welcome to The Marco Polo Club<br />
The Marco Polo Club is an exclusive programme that<br />
recognises you as one of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair’s<br />
most important customers. This guide explains the benefits<br />
you can enjoy as a member.<br />
The Marco Polo Club tiers<br />
The Marco Polo Club has four tiers — Green, Silver,<br />
Gold and Diamond. Green tier is the entry level for<br />
The Marco Polo Club. Club miles and Club sectors are<br />
accrued when you travel with Cathay Pacific, Dragonair or<br />
any oneworld ® alliance airline in an eligible fare class. The<br />
chart below indicates the Club miles or Club sectors required<br />
to renew or upgrade your tier within a membership year.<br />

Membership period<br />
A membership year lasts 12 months from the date you<br />
enrolled, renewed, upgraded or downgraded into your<br />
current tier. Upon renewal, upgrade or downgrade, your<br />
Club miles and Club sectors will automatically be reset to<br />
zero and a new membership year will begin.<br />
Upgrading to a higher tier<br />
Upgrades occur as soon as you accrue enough miles<br />
within a membership year to enter the next tier threshold.<br />
As multiple tier upgrades are not allowed, you can only<br />
progress one tier at a time.<br />

Club miles and Club sectors<br />
Flying in eligible fare classes with Cathay Pacific, Dragonair<br />
or any of the oneworld ® alliance airlines earns you Club miles<br />
and Club sectors. The higher the fare class, the more<br />
Club miles and Club sectors you will be awarded.<br />
The difference between Club miles and Club sectors<br />
Club miles and Club sectors are the fairest way to calculate<br />
your eligibility for top-tier status in The Marco Polo Club.<br />
They are automatically tracked for every qualifying flight.<br />
Either Club miles or Club sectors count towards renewal or<br />
upgrade, but not a combination of the two.<br />

For example, if you often fly long-haul, you are more likely<br />
to qualify through Club miles. If you undertake frequent<br />
short trips, then Club sectors are the best way for you to<br />
qualify for top-tier status.<br />
Earning Club miles and Club sectors<br />
To earn Club miles and Club sectors, simply quote your<br />
membership number when booking your flight and<br />
present your membership card at check-in. Club miles and<br />
Club sectors are awarded to members only, and are credited<br />
based on the class that the member has flown. However,<br />
Club miles and Club sectors awarded are not affected by<br />
complimentary upgrades or involuntary downgrades.<br />

Note: The Marco Polo Club benefits are applicable only to flights marketed and operated by Cathay Pacific /Dragonair, and do not apply to joint-operating or codeshare flights operated by third-party carriers.<br />
1. Member’s spouse can also enjoy this benefit when travelling with the member.<br />
2. Subject to availability at the time of reservation and applicable to paid tickets only. Please note<br />
that group fares and unaccompanied minors (children aged 12 years or below who travel alone)<br />
are not eligible for Advance Seat Reservation. Exit seats are limited and subject to other rules and<br />
restrictions. Members must check in at least one hour before departure, or seats will be released.<br />
Some other restrictions may apply.<br />
3. Only applicable to paid tickets; not applicable to prize, donation or redemption tickets.<br />
4. Not applicable to group fares; ID/AD discount; barter/trade agreement tickets; prize, donation or<br />

10. If the cabin baggage allowance in the member’s travel class is higher, this will supersede the<br />
special cabin baggage allowance.<br />

13. Available to members departing on any airline and limited to lounges operated by Cathay Pacific<br />

15. Guests can be travelling on any airline, as long as they are accompanied by a member and access<br />
the lounge in accordance with the member's entitlement. Access to our arrivals lounge is for<br />
members only. Guests are not allowed.<br />
16. If the member is travelling on non-Cathay Pacific/non-Dragonair flights, guest access is restricted<br />
to Cathay Pacific Business Class lounges and Dragonair lounges.<br />
17. Access to Cathay Pacific Business Class lounges or Dragonair lounges is available for redemption<br />
at 7,000 Asia Miles per person. Access to Cathay Pacific First Class lounges is only available for<br />
Diamond members for redemption at 10,000 Asia Miles per person.<br />

Lounges<br />
Step into our lounges anywhere in the world and you will<br />
be treated to world-class facilities, refreshments and service<br />
that comes straight from the heart. So before you board<br />
your next flight, leave yourself some time to relax.<br />
The Wing (Hong Kong)<br />
The Wing houses a First Class and a Business Class lounge<br />
and is located near departure gates 1 to 4 of the Hong Kong<br />
International Airport. It is open seven days a week from<br />
5:45am until the last flight of the day departs.<br />
The First Class lounge is located on Level 7 of The Wing<br />
and is only open to First Class passengers and Diamond<br />
members travelling on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair and<br />
their guests. Enjoy a premium buffet selection for breakfast,<br />
lunch or dinner at The Haven restaurant, freshen up with a<br />
shower or a bath in The Cabanas, or relax in total privacy<br />
in The Library.<br />
Measuring 3,500 square metres, the Business Class lounge<br />
is located on Levels 6 and 7 of The Wing and is open to<br />
Diamond members travelling on any carrier, as well as<br />
Gold and Silver members travelling on either Cathay Pacific<br />
or Dragonair. Relax at The Long Bar, the world’s longest<br />
airport bar; enjoy a pre-flight aperitif at The Short Bar, or<br />
taste freshly prepared noodles at The Noodle Bar.<br />
The Pier (Hong Kong)<br />
The Pier is located on Level 5 near Gate 62 and is open<br />
seven days a week from 6:00am to 11:30pm. Covering an<br />
area of 3,900 square metres and home to both First and<br />
Business Class lounges, The Pier is another peaceful space<br />
where you can spend time before take-off.<br />
Relax and enjoy our hospitality at The Haven, The Long Bar,<br />
The Short Bar and The Noodle Bar. Take a hot shower or<br />
use one of our six Day-Break Rooms designed exclusively<br />
for First Class passengers. They offer a private and relaxing<br />
environment with a pre-programmed selection of audio and<br />
video entertainment.<br />
The Cabin (Hong Kong)<br />
Measuring 1,339 square metres with a capacity of 200 seats,<br />
The Cabin is a First and Business Class lounge conveniently<br />
located by Gate 23. The Cabin is open from 5:30am until the<br />
last flight of the day departs.<br />
Relax in our innovative and unique Cathay Solus Chairs,<br />
and make use of IT workstations with high-speed Wi-Fi<br />
Internet, a video-conference suite and iPads in the lounge.<br />
You can also enjoy made-to-order hot sandwiches, fresh<br />
antipasti and salads at The Deli or juice, smoothies and hot<br />
herbal tea from The Health Bar.<br />

Lounges<br />
G16 Lounge (Hong Kong)<br />
The G16 Lounge is located on the Northern Concourse on<br />
Level 7 near Gate 16, after the Immigration and Security<br />
areas. The G16 Lounge is open every day from 5:00am to<br />
midnight.<br />
The lounge features open and comfortable seating, a selfservice<br />
refreshment counter, a Cantonese-style noodle bar,<br />
wireless Internet access, computer workstations, baggage<br />
storage and more.<br />
The Arrival (Hong Kong)<br />
The Arrival is located past the arrivals hall, below the<br />
Airport Express station. The Arrival is open every day from<br />
5:00am to midnight.<br />
Our elegant facility has a self-service counter offering Asian<br />
and Western delicacies. And you can take advantage of our<br />
shower suites to freshen up before you head into the city.<br />
The Arrival welcomes First Class passengers, Gold and<br />
Diamond members, as well as oneworld Emerald members<br />
flying Cathay Pacific or Dragonair to Hong Kong as their final<br />
destination, or with transitions of more than four hours.<br />
Note: Members are not permitted to bring guests into this lounge.<br />
Dragonair and Cathay Pacific Lounge (Beijing and Shanghai)<br />
Combining the aesthetic and brand essence of Dragonair<br />
and Cathay Pacific, our lounges in Beijing and Shanghai<br />
are sure to please you. The next time you fly from Beijing<br />
Capital International Airport, head for the magnificent<br />
Terminal 3 building to enjoy our hospitality. And while at<br />
Shanghai Pudong International Airport, you’re invited to<br />
visit us in Terminal 2.<br />
Available to First and Business Class passengers flying<br />
Cathay Pacific or Dragonair, as well as Silver and above<br />
members of The Marco Polo Club, both lounges comfortably<br />
seat over 170 people. The lounges have two dining venues –<br />
The Long Servery and The Short Servery – offering delicious<br />
Western and Chinese dishes, and feature spacious lounge<br />
areas with large-screen televisions and a wide selection of<br />
international newspapers and magazines. Wireless Internet<br />
connections are available, as are personal workstations that<br />
provide you with space and privacy.<br />

Travelling around the world is easier than ever with the<br />
oneworld alliance, featuring Cathay Pacific and 11 of the<br />
world’s leading airlines – American Airlines ® , British Airways,<br />
Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév Hungarian Airlines,<br />
Mexicana Airlines, Qantas Airways, Royal Jordanian Airlines,<br />

The relationship between The Marco Polo Club and oneworld<br />
As a member of The Marco Polo Club, whenever you travel<br />
with any oneworld alliance airline on a qualifying flight,<br />
you earn Club miles and Club sectors that contribute to<br />
your tier status. Eligible Economy Class tickets enable you<br />
to earn 50% or 100% of the actual miles flown and 0.5 or 1<br />
Club sector for every sector flown. Eligibility is based on<br />
the fare class booked, as shown on your air ticket. Please<br />
refer to the table on the right showing the eligible economy<br />
fare classes for Club miles and Club sectors with oneworld<br />
alliance airlines.<br />
The oneworld network offers over 750 destinations, making<br />
it easier for you to reach and maintain The Marco Polo Club<br />
tier that you deserve.<br />

Terms and conditions<br />
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between Cathay Pacific<br />
Loyalty Programmes Ltd. (CPLP) and Members of The Marco Polo Club<br />
(Members) and also set out the terms that apply between Cathay Pacific<br />
Airways Ltd. (CPA) and Members. These terms and conditions should be read<br />
carefully, particularly as they include limitations and exclusions on the liability<br />
of CPLP and CPA.<br />
General Conditions<br />
1. The Marco Polo Club (The Club) is managed and operated by CPLP.<br />
2. The Club is open to individuals aged 18 or above. Membership is not<br />
available to corporations or other legal entities. Membership is accepted at<br />
the sole discretion of CPLP and upon payment of a joining fee of USD50.<br />
3. Members will be issued with a membership number and membership<br />
card. The use of this number/card and associated benefits is deemed to<br />
be an acceptance of these terms and conditions and other Club terms and<br />
conditions that may be issued from time to time, to the benefit of CPLP and<br />
CPA.<br />
4. Membership of The Club and membership cards are not transferable and<br />
may only be used by the Member. Membership cards remain the property of<br />
CPLP and must be returned upon request.<br />
5. CPLP reserves the right to modify The Club structure, benefits or other<br />
features including these terms and conditions or to terminate The Club at<br />
any time upon reasonable notice where possible, and CPLP and/or CPA<br />
will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting therefrom. Any use of<br />
The Club by a Member will be deemed as acceptance of any amendment<br />
to these terms and conditions.<br />
6. The Club membership joining fee is non-refundable.<br />
7. Upon joining or upgrading to a tier within The Club, Members will receive<br />
a membership card and baggage tags. When joining, Members can refer<br />
to our online membership guide at www.cathaypacific.com, which sets<br />
out additional terms and benefits of membership. Gold, Silver and Green<br />
members will be charged for the replacement of membership cards or<br />
baggage tags (online request: USD20 or 2,000 Asia Miles; other non-online<br />
channels: USD50 or 5,000 Asia Miles).<br />
8. The actual Club miles/sectors earned by a Member are a percentage, based<br />
on class flown of the Great Circle Distance in miles between the origin<br />
airports and destination airports. For connecting flights that require a<br />
change of flight number, the sum of the Great Circle Distance of each<br />
segment will form the basis of the Club miles/sectors. There is no minimum<br />
Club miles/sectors earned guarantee. Club miles/sectors earned are not<br />
affected by complimentary upgrades or involuntary downgrades.<br />
9. Members will receive a monthly Club statement via email. Hard copies can<br />
be provided for a fee of USD50 or 5,000 Asia Miles.<br />
10. The membership guide is incorporated as part of these terms and conditions<br />
and is deemed as part of the contract between CPLP and CPA on one hand<br />
and a Member on the other hand.<br />
Membership Termination<br />
1. Members may terminate their membership at any time by giving written<br />
notice to CPLP and returning their membership card, at which time any<br />
outstanding Club miles/sectors will be cancelled.<br />
2. CPLP may forthwith terminate the membership of a Member and<br />
the right of a Member to use his/her membership card and use The<br />
Club facilities if a Member commits misconduct or fraud, misuses the<br />
Asia Miles programme benefits and awards, misuses The Club of its<br />
facilities and services or fails to follow these terms and conditions. In such<br />
circumstances, CPLP shall simultaneously cancel all Club miles/sectors of<br />
the Member.<br />
3. CPLP may also terminate The Club membership of a Member at its<br />
complete discretion and in such circumstances will provide the Member<br />
with 3 to 6 months notice of termination. Upon expiry of the notice period,<br />
all unused Club miles/sectors will be cancelled. Without prejudice to the<br />
foregoing, CPLP may alternatively at its discretion forthwith terminate or<br />
suspend a Member’s right to use specified facilities, benefits or services<br />
of The Club, with the Member retaining his/her overall membership in<br />
The Club.<br />
4. Termination of membership for whatever reason shall be without prejudice<br />
to the accrued rights and remedies of CPLP, CPA and the Member as at the<br />
date of termination.<br />
5. Membership for individuals who remain inactive or fall below the minimum<br />
travel criteria as outlined in the membership guide for a membership period<br />
of 12 months will be terminated.<br />
6. Upon the death of a Member, the membership account will be closed and all<br />
outstanding Club miles/sectors will be cancelled.<br />
Data Privacy<br />
1. The personal data supplied by Members is required for the operation of<br />
The Club, delivery of associated benefits and services, ongoing research<br />
and programme development and to communicate news and information<br />
to Members. Failure by Members to provide or keep required data up to<br />
date may result in CPLP being unable to provide membership of The Club<br />
and associated benefits. In such cases, membership may be terminated.<br />
2. All information is managed in accordance with CPLP’s Data Privacy Policy.<br />
Such Data Privacy Policy is deemed incorporated into the contract between<br />
CPLP and a Member. Information may be passed to supplier and partner<br />
organisations to facilitate communication of news and information to<br />
Members. Members have the right not to receive such communication from<br />
either CPLP, CPA or other partner organisations.<br />
3. Members have the right to request to review and correct any personal data<br />
held by CPLP. In such circumstances Members should complete a Data<br />
Access Request Form available from The Marco Polo Club Service Centre. An<br />
administration fee may be charged for the processing of these requests.<br />
4. Members are responsible for keeping CPLP up to date as to their correct<br />
personal details. CPLP is not responsible for any loss as a result of a<br />
Member’s failure to notify of a change in address.<br />
5. Members will be issued with a confidential Personal Identification Number<br />
(PIN). Members must ensure that this number is not disclosed to any<br />
unauthorised parties. CPLP cannot be held liable for the consequences of<br />
any unauthorised disclosure of the PIN by Members or unauthorised use of<br />
the PIN.<br />
Limitation of Liability<br />
1. CPLP and/or CPA shall not be liable to any Member for any indirect or<br />
consequential loss, damage or expense of any kind whatsoever arising<br />
out of or in connection with The Club and/or the use of or the unavailability<br />
of facilities of The Club and/or the provision or the refusal to provide any<br />
benefits, whether such loss, damage or expense is caused by negligence<br />
or otherwise, and whether CPLP and/or CPA have any control over the<br />
circumstances giving rise to the claim or not.<br />
2. In any event, subject to 1. above and any applicable limitation under the<br />
Warsaw Convention or under CPA’s conditions of travel, the liability of CPLP<br />
and/or CPA in contract, tort or otherwise with respect to any claim arising<br />
in respect of acts or omissions in operating The Club shall be limited to the<br />
value of the ticket being used by the Member in connection with which the<br />
matter arises or HKD10,000, whichever is greater.<br />
3. CPLP will endeavour to ensure the availability of services of The Club when<br />
these are provided by partners but will not be liable for any loss arising from<br />
the failure by partners to provide such services. Where a Member uses the<br />
services provided by partners, the partners’ terms and conditions will apply<br />
and CPLP will not be liable for any loss.<br />
4. CPLP confirms that it will operate The Club and provide The Club facilities<br />
with reasonable care and skill, however, CPLP does not in any way warrant<br />
that The Club facilities and benefits will always be available and all terms<br />
expressed or implied by statute or otherwise on the part of CPLP and/or CPA<br />
are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.<br />
Miscellaneous<br />
1. The failure by CPLP and/or CPA to exercise or enforce any rights herein<br />
contained shall not be deemed to be a waiver thereof nor shall it affect<br />
CPLP’s or CPA’s entitlement to take any subsequent action in respect of that<br />
right or of any other right.<br />
2. Should any provision of these terms and conditions be found by any court or<br />
administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable,<br />
the invalidity or unenforceability of such provision shall not affect the other<br />
provisions of these terms and conditions. All provisions not affected by such<br />
invalidity or unenforceability shall remain in full force and effect.<br />
3. Members agree to use all Club facilities with all reasonable care and<br />
attention, and with due courtesy and respect to CPLP and CPA staff and other<br />
Members.<br />
Law and Jurisdiction<br />
1. These terms and conditions and the relationship between CPLP and/or<br />
CPA and each Member are governed by Hong Kong law. By using The Club<br />
each Member submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong<br />
courts.<br />
