Surfers Place Named after Surfers Paradise, Queensland. Surrey Street Winchester Street Named after the English county of Surrey. Halswell Sunbeam raised horses on this site. He was the son of Henry, the son of Henry Suraj Bullie and Harriet Townsend, and Helena Sunbeam, née Cockle. In a Paparua County subdivision dating from 1984. First appears in street directories in 1987. North New Brighton In a group of streets with Australian east coast names. Formed post-1997. Linwood Winchester Street first appears in street directories in 1906. Re-named Surrey Street in 1911 because “there was a Winchester Street in St Albans”. Sutton Place Named after Sutton’s, the English seed firm. Sutton Quay Named after Frederick Ernest Sutton (1887?- 1967). Halswell First mentioned in The Press in 1877. First appears in street directories in 1898. Donald Sutherland is a resident. Dallington Developed in 1999 on land off Cheam Street that had previously been a market garden. Lyttelton Sutton was chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board and mayor of Lyttelton 1925-1929, 1931-1933 and 1935-1944.
