Dr. Lisa a. BiLLingham (Conductor, University Chorale), Associate Professor<br />
of Choral Music Education at <strong>George</strong> <strong>Mason</strong> University, conducts <strong>the</strong> University<br />
Chorale and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in choral music<br />
education. She is <strong>the</strong> co-advisor for <strong>the</strong> GMU student chapters of American<br />
Choral Directors Association and Music Educators National Conference. She<br />
is <strong>the</strong> President-Elect for <strong>the</strong> Virginia Chapter of <strong>the</strong> American Choral Directors<br />
Association and is a planning committee member for <strong>the</strong> Annual Voices<br />
United Conference hosted by Virginia, Maryland-D.C., and Delaware chapters<br />
of ACDA.<br />
Dr. Billingham’s research interests include <strong>the</strong> incorporation of Laban<br />
Movement Theory in conducting pedagogy and <strong>the</strong> choral rehearsal. She is a<br />
Certified Laban Movement Analyst from <strong>the</strong> Integrated Movement Studies<br />
<strong>Program</strong> at <strong>the</strong> University of Utah and incorporates that <strong>the</strong>ory with her private<br />
conducting students. Dr. Billingham is active as a clinician for conferences and<br />
choirs throughout <strong>the</strong> United States and Europe. She has presented for ACDA,<br />
VMEA, two Regional ACDA conferences, and at <strong>the</strong> International Society for<br />
Music Education (ISME) Conference in Bologna, Italy.<br />
Dr. Billingham holds a DMA in Choral Conducting from <strong>the</strong> University<br />
of Arizona, an MM in Choral Conducting from <strong>the</strong> University of Missouri-<br />
Kansas City Conservatory of Music, and a BME in Choral Music Education<br />
from Indiana University (Bloomington). Her conducting mentors include Bruce<br />
Chamberlain, Eph Ehly, James Jordan, Maurice Skones, and Volker Hempfling.<br />
CJ reDDen-Liotta is graduate assistant to Dr. Lisa A. Billingham and <strong>the</strong><br />
University Chorale (100+ voices).<br />
A graduate of <strong>the</strong> University of North Texas, Mr. Redden-Liotta has<br />
been an active professional musician in <strong>the</strong> Washington, DC area for <strong>the</strong> past 10<br />
years. As a conductor, he is <strong>the</strong> Artistic Director of <strong>the</strong> chamber chorus Second<br />
Wind, <strong>the</strong> Musical Director for <strong>the</strong> Woodbridge Community Chorus, and<br />
served as Music Director and Conductor for <strong>the</strong> Repertory Opera Theatre of<br />
Washington.<br />
Mr. Redden-Liotta has performed with many ensembles, including<br />
<strong>the</strong> critically acclaimed University of North Texas Jazz Singers, <strong>the</strong> Woodley<br />
Ensemble, National Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of <strong>the</strong> Professional<br />
Core of <strong>the</strong> Washington Master Chorale. As soloist he has performed in several<br />
capacities, including <strong>the</strong> world premiere and recording of <strong>the</strong> Requiem by Paul<br />
Leavitt, and <strong>the</strong> East Coast premiere of Eternal Light: A Requiem by British<br />
composer Howard Goodall. Additonally, he maintains both a private voice<br />
studio and is a teaching artist at <strong>the</strong> Capitol Hill Arts Workshop.<br />
