• Limited term License: You are issued a license <strong>for</strong> up<br />
to two years, and you are required to return to DMV<br />
<strong>for</strong> reevaluation and retesting.<br />
• Calendar reexamination: You are required to appear<br />
<strong>for</strong> a reexamination at specified intervals, provide<br />
updated medical in<strong>for</strong>mation, and submit to possible<br />
retesting.<br />
• restriction: You may only operate a motor vehicle<br />
under specific conditions and circumstances, such as<br />
driving during certain times <strong>of</strong> the day, driving within<br />
certain geographical areas, or having your vehicle<br />
equipped with specialized equipment.<br />

Duration <strong>of</strong> suspensions/revocations<br />
“A suspension based upon a physical or mental condition<br />
shall continue until evidence satisfactory to the department<br />
establishes that the cause <strong>for</strong> which the action was<br />
taken has been removed or no longer renders the person<br />
incapable <strong>of</strong> operating a vehicle safely” (Cali<strong>for</strong>nia<br />
Vehicle Code (CVC) §13556(c)). This is important to<br />
distinguish <strong>for</strong> seniors who can improve their driving skill<br />
or are recovering from a medical condition that caused the<br />
suspension.
