PTA NEWS - Staff Appreciation Event set for February 20 th ! Theme is Mardi Gras!<br />

We need our faithful volunteers to help us out with February’s luncheon for our staff. The Durkee Family<br />

has graciously offered to come and cook Jambalaya for all 300 staff members. All we need to do is to<br />

provide the salad, bread and desserts!<br />

Please email twhspta1@gmail.com to sign up to donate. All items will need to go to the 9 th grade campus<br />

or senior campus by 9 am on Friday, February 20th. Please specify the campus of your choice. As<br />

always if you are too busy to shop or bake, we always take monetary donations. Just make your check<br />

payable to TWHS PTA and mail to:<br />

Items needed for luncheon:<br />

Large size bags of salad: 20-30 mixed greens and iceberg.<br />

Salad dressings: 4-6 of each Ranch, Honey Mustard, Italian, Caesar<br />

Rolls or French bread: 40 loaves or rolls in packages of 12 (enough to feed 300)<br />

Soft spread butter: 3 super large tubs<br />

Desserts: YOUR Specialty!! Please bring your favorite dessert in a disposable pan.<br />

(Ideas: bread pudding, brownies, cookies, banana pudding, cakes, pies, bars)<br />

Non leaking bowls: 350<br />

Spoons: 350<br />

Gallon size Water Jugs: 20-30<br />

Door prizes: anything you think a teacher might like to win in a raffle!<br />

This is a Mardi Gras themed luncheon!<br />

HELPERS!!! We need helpers to set up, serve and clean up!<br />

Shifts are: 9:00-11:00, 11:00-1:00 and 1:00-2:00<br />

** March staff appreciation event is a “Grab and Go” breakfast. If you have any contacts for local<br />

restaurants that might donate bagels, breakfast tacos, donuts, Chick-Fil-A, etc please contact Kelli<br />

Williams at 714-818-8458. We will be securing our food for this event soon!!! Thanks for all you do to<br />

help us out!!!<br />

T-Shirts, other goodies, refreshments (Sprite and cookies)<br />

MINIMAL DONAR QUALIFICATIONS:<br />

DIET: EAT BREAKFAST – A substantial meal one to four hours prior to donating is preferable<br />

(Oatmeal, Cereal and milk, juice, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast).<br />

HYDRATION – Drink at least 12 oz. prior to blood donation. A unit of blood<br />

is about 450 cc’s – one pint – 2 cups. 7-10% of your body weight is blood.<br />

If your weight is 120 pounds, your body contains 8-10 pints of blood.<br />

AGE: Minimum of 17 years of age. No upper age limit.<br />

WEIGHT: Minimum of 110 pounds.<br />

IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED: Valid picture I.D. and you must know your Social<br />

Security Number.<br />
