environmental monitoring network, autonomic network management, and<br />

Work package leader and team leader in the European project Robot Fleets for Highly Effective<br />

Agriculture and Forestry Management (RHEA), FP7 NMP<br />

The European project RHEA is designing algorithms, technologies and systems for perception,<br />

actuation, communication, localization and decision making in a robotic fleet for precision<br />

agriculture and foresting applications which have potential to significantly reduce use of pesticides<br />

and herbicides.<br />

Responsibilities<br />

- leading the Work Package developing communication and localization solution<br />

- coordinating of the local team which designs a fleet communication technology and user<br />

interfaces for reliable distributed robot-to-robot and human-to-robot coordination.<br />

- co-supervising two PhD students researching in the areas of self-organizing context-sensitive<br />

and reliable wireless networking and distributed semantic based management for adaptive<br />

coordination in mixed robots/humans teams<br />

- co-supervision of MSc students<br />

- coordination of experimental test bed<br />

- methodology assessment, advancement and quantitative evaluation<br />

- dissemination in internal and external events<br />
