CN V injury: facial hypesthesia (decreased or<br />

absent touch sensation)<br />

CN VI injury: diplopia<br />

Uncommon<br />

Usually not noticed immediately after injury<br />

→ Edema is responsible for the damage (not<br />

direct <strong>trauma</strong>)<br />

Spontaneous recovery <strong>of</strong> both facial hypesthesia<br />

and diplopia is the general rule.<br />
