reserve the use of a reader-printer machine to view these:

In the period from the 1890s to the Second World War, the local press often reported local matters in
considerable detail. It is not unusual to find detailed newspaper obituaries of unremarkable local
people, and researchers should not overlook this resource. In the absence of any obituary, a printed
death notice will usually state place of burial or cremation.
For local people who had some prominence in local affairs, please see our separate binder of indexed
“Gazette and Herald” articles (under the heading “Biography” followed by the name of the person).
Where more than one local newspaper was in simultaneous publication, do make sure to check all the
available reports.
