F2 THE NATIONAL BURIAL INDEX
The Library holds the 3rd edition of this Index on CDRom, published by the Federation
of Family History Societies in 2010. Including the data from the 2 nd edition, it now
contains over 18.4 million burial entries recorded in English and Welsh CofE, Nonconformist,
RC, Quaker and cemetery registers between 1538 and 2008. It does not
contain death registrations or Monumental Inscriptions.
The Index includes 431,000 Lancashire entries.
Each entry provides surname, forename(s), date of burial, age (where given), the parish
or cemetery where the event was recorded, whether the data is checked and the family
history society, group or individual who extracted the record.
A Blackpool Library membership card is required to use this Index, which is usable only
on one “standalone” PC. This PC can be reserved in advance.
